So this morning, I'm doing my usual routine for the job search -- going on different websites and finding jobs to apply for. No big deal, honestly -- just getting myself out there. However, just as I'm wrapping up this morning, I get a call. Number's unfamiliar, but just in case it's a potential employer, I answer it.

It's someone from one of the recruiting websites I use (rather heavily this morning, actually) -- and she wants to meet with me in person Monday morning. :DDD An appointment was made, e-mails were sent, and prove-your-skills tests were done. So this Monday at 10:30 I meet with them to discuss my work experience and any positions that I might fit. I'm really excited -- this feels like finally getting a foot in the "getting a job" door. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Just need to get together the stuff they want me to bring in. . .

It did throw my routine off (worth it if I get employment, of course), but RPing's proving to be rather quiet at the nonce, and I got up Chapter 2 of "In The Land of the Dead!" On FF.net and on AO3. I feel obliged to tell you that, once it switches to Lizzie's POV, we get some disturbing imagery related to her rape. . .plus maggots. So yeah, prep yourself for that before reading. I intended to put up Chapter 5 of "Forgetting You" Blu-Ray edition too, but no dice -- I had too much else that I wanted to do. I'll probably pop that up tomorrow and do a double feature on the tumblr next Friday.

DragonVale news: As noted yesterday, I JUST squeaked in getting a Ruby before they expired today. That was a close one. It's in the nursery now and will probably hatch Sunday morning. Time to start working on the August Gemstone, the Peridot! We've also got our double weekend live -- I don't know if I'm going to be able to gather full firefly goodness from food and dragoncash, but I've maxed out eggs, party hats, island clearing (deliberately left some stuff so I'd have it for this), and gemstones (upgraded a shrine and speed up the last hour and a half of breed on the Ruby). So I think that, combined with the rest of the Double weekend, should carry me through to getting the Twilight Tower. :) For Gigs's edification, Diver got Silver, and Spring's in Plant.

Hearthstone news: Plague Quarter is still apparently being iffy to people, so instead I did some normal play with Rexxar the Hunter. Won two games in a row with him, which is nice. :) I also earned a new card back thanks to hitting rank 20 last season, but I'm sticking with the rainbow card back I earned earlier for now. I think it's the best-looking. :)

Okay, I have muffins to pack up and dragoncash to gather -- night!

Neon won a Silver and Helen is in Fire. I really forgot about it yesterday so the Plant Event was skipped and it won't be done until 1:30 in the morning. I predict the Earth Event will be skipped because I'll be asleep.

I hit level 41 yesterday and I managed a Dream this morning. I have the Habitat being built already.

Nothing much else.

DC: 230,485,273; G: 312: FF: 1176 (total should be 1282 if I can max everything) If I can max everything the rest of the Event, I'll be short 8. I was willing to pay 99 cents for the pan flute version of "To Love You More" the other day...I may spend the 99 cents for the 60 just to get the Twilight Tower. I know I said I didn't want to spend real money on it, but 99 cents isn't bad. I would've had to spend more than that on the Easter Event to get the Island and that I wasn't willing to do. I may do the 99 cents.

As for the chapter, I liked it. For some reason, I like that the maggot's going to eat the bruises, although...then won't she have holes in her neck? Is she going to wear a ribbon or something around her neck afterward? Yes these are the things I think about. :p

Edit: Oh! They had something at the fair I thought Victor might get a kick out of. It was a butterfly tent and they gave out q-tips with Powerade on them so you could feed them. I got all the anti-social butterflies that flew away as soon as I coaxed them off their perches but Miranda put one on my hat. Unfortunately I couldn't get any pictures because my phone was gonna die, but it was cool. If we go back this year I'll try to get pics, but otherwise hopefully they'll be back next year.

Mine keeps slipping later into the evening too -- though it hasn't gotten quite that bad yet! As it is, Diver won Silver in Water, Spring just won Gold in Plant, and I'm throwing in Litebrite for Fire.

Congrats on your Dream! I used some gems to hatch my Ruby today -- as I said, I named it Miracle. No other goodies today, I'm afraid -- starting my tries for the Peridot and attempting a Bronze to finish off the Treasure dragons.

DC: 466,085,664; G: 197; FF: 1127 -- need 8 more from habitats and then the 40 from party hats. If I max everything tomorrow, I should be able to get it Monday morning sometime. . .probably won't be getting any spare gems, but at least I shouldn't have to spend any for a while either. We'll have to see. You do whatever feels right. :)

Yes, she will -- I imagine high-necked dresses will help with that though. And it means more to her to have his marks off her than to be completely whole.

Yeah mine now says 1 day, 4 and a half hours. There was an update so now the icon isn't nighttime anymore. I don't know if you got that one.

And now that you've warned me about it, I'm quite annoyed with them, because that's changing the rules at the VERY END so that most people will either have to give up the Twilight Tower or pay money to get it. At least with the Lost Island they were HONEST about having to pay for it. (Yes, they said it would end the 3rd, but EVERY OTHER TIME that's meant noon the next day. That's how it worked even for the Magic Egg Event.)

Yeah, right. I know they're a company and they need to make money but it's a little ridiculous. They should like flat out state what gives out the collectibles and how many to max things out so people can figure things out ahead of time.

I'd settle for them being upfront about shit costing stuff, like they were about the Lost Island. At least with that one I didn't have my hopes up the entire time the festival was going on. Ugh.

Oh hey...I was looking at the wiki and it says that the Double Fireflies ends before the Festival does. Maybe you still have a chance and maybe even I spent the money for nothing? I guess we'll see.

Hun, please. You play way more than I do, were smarter about saving your gems from the beginning, and just generally seem to have awesome luck with the dragons. Being "even" is a thing of the past, trust me. :P

. . .BACKFLIP STOP CONFUSING THE DAMN ISSUE (though this at least explains the discrepancy in our timers -- I was always looking at the one in the the news section of the social box). Though if you were going to be slightly short even with a double weekend, I think you made the right choice to get the tower.
