Interview On The Morrow!
Sep. 11th, 2014 10:09 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I have my plan of attack, my outfit, all relevant stuff (I actually already had a copy of my resume and references -- I'd forgotten that I printed them out for the Randstad thing but she never actually took them) and some nerves in the bowels of my stomach which I'm doing my best not to let get me down. I also have a sleepover job for tomorrow night and Sunday night, so even if the interview doesn't lead to anything I'm at least guaranteed some money this weekend. Really hoping it does, though. I need something so bad. . .
News of the day:
-->Somehow managed to take my walk at the cloudiest part of the morning. Somewhat annoying, but at least I got it in.
-->Finished up edits on the next chapter of "In the Land of the Dead" and did a few tweaks to "Forgetting You" Chapter 7. The latter should be posted sometime tomorrow afternoon, after I get home from my adventure.
-->It's an anniversary extravaganza in DragonVale -- the Paper and Cotton dragons from previous anniversaries have been rereleased, and there's a new dragon for the third -- the Leathery! They're available until the 28th, so I'll be concentrating on breeding those for a while. My Amber also hatched -- I named it Hammond, after the owner of Jurassic Park. I also forgot to take a picture of the egg, which saddens me. Meeeh. Have to get one online for Weyr Wednesday.
-->Insane combos continue to be a thing in Spellfall. I'm making good progress through the Dunket Cavern -- though I wish the story wasn't broken up as weirdly as it is. There's a lot of fights that connect to later fights on the timeline that mean you read stuff early without it making much sense. Lots of enemies that are higher than me level-wise too, but the combos, combined with the fact that I have enough money to happily abuse the power-up potions presented at the beginning of every fight -- means I'm making it through without Eric getting his ass fully kicked. I suspect the boss fight here's gonna be WAY tough, though. . .
-->Two losses and a win in Hearthstone. My Valeera was outtaunted by a Malfurion, and Jaina managed to bring the pain to a Rexxar (thanks to having a Flamestrike handy and getting a fireball at just the right moment). Anduin's match against a Gul'dan was the most interesting, though -- I got some good stuff thanks to Mind Vision and Thoughtsteal, and I'd managed to work him down to 2 health. . .and then:
YOU FACE JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!
Yeah, it was over for me in that moment. Though at least I can say I've finally seen a Jaraxxus in the wild! Hopefully next time I'll be able to have a Sacrificial Pact handy to immediately shut him down. XD (No, seriously, that card destroys a demon to restore health to your character (Gul'dan, usually, but Andy can get it if he manages to grab it with his copy cards), and Jaraxxus, despite being a special legendary that gets to play hero, is still classified as a demon. Soooo -- yeah.)
And now, more RP replies! What there are of them. . .quiet night, at least for the moment. Watch things pick up right before I have to go to bed. . .

Date: 2014-09-12 03:03 pm (UTC)The Paper came with the name Oakheart (my Ash's name) so I named him Papyrus.
No luck on the Leathery or the Cotton yet and I have Full Nursery Syndrome (damn that Bronze Olympus...).
I bought the three anniversary statues and they're on the Planeteer Island right now with all the other decorations that I currently have no place for. I also bought the Star Sapphire of Trigon since this is Antoinette's birth month.
Speaking of those statues, I was looking at the description of the 2nd Anniversary one and it describes Julian the Fair and his dragon Leif who greet visitors before they enter parks. I wonder if that's supposed to be the wizard that takes you through the tutorial. *ponderponder* The Wiki seems to think it is and I may make it so for that story I keep putting off.
I was like | | close to 45 and I got impatient so I sacrificed money and gems to level up future breeders so I could finally get the Tenth Island. It's on its way and should arrive by like late Sunday afternoon if I counted right. Perfect day to rearrange and redecorate, lol.
I'm not too torn up about the money. I'm making cash hand over fist just with the setup I have right now so I'll make it up pretty fast I think. The gems...eh, bothers me a bit more but I looked at what fails the Topaz has and the largest is a 5-gem spendature so I think I'll be okay. Hopefully though I'll get the Cotton on the first right-breeding-time try so I'm not spending 20 a pop. The Zombie and the Opal don't share a breeding time with anyone so I won't have to worry about that. Neither does the Autumn and I think (hope) that's all that will be released and re-released by November. Though they could surprise me...after all, there are only 5 dragons left to add before they hit 200. :/ (I kid, Backflip...don't do it!)
So now it's just the waiting and breeding game. Mostly waiting. Damn the long fails...

Unrelated Edit: I got bored and was reading the TV Tropes for Once Upon a Time and came across Canon Welding and I was like "That's what V does all the time!!" :D I'm very bored, can't you tell? :p

Date: 2014-09-13 12:42 am (UTC)No luck for me either -- my hoped-for Cotton was a Crystal. Hmph. Got a chance at a Paper now, though. And LOL, I like that name for your Paper. I might call mine Origami.
My third statue (which looks a bit rougher than the rest if you look at it up close -- or, at least, I think so) -- is just hanging out on my original Epics Island for now. I might make it a central decoration or something on the Tenth. And aww, cute. :)
I always figured he was the tutorial guy, yeah. I'd totally make it so for your story.
*laugh* I see -- hey, you do what you gotta! And yeah, great timing there. Though you'd better be prepared to wait to clear off all that stuff -- so many Huge Trees and Boulder Piles @-@
And yeah, the money issue isn't really an issue anymore, is it? Not with all the epics and high earners we've got. :) And the gemstone dragons do earn their keep. . .still, I hope you don't have to spend too many more to get the dragons you want! And that Backflip doesn't go completely nuts on the dragon releases (though I wouldn't be surprised if we hit 200 before December. . .)
Long fails are the worst. (Though annoyingly short fails, especially if your nursery is filling up, are pretty bad too.)

*snork* I dunno if you could call me an "official" welder, since I'm putting together properties I myself haven't written. . .but it is a fun idea, and I do like the idea of shared universes. :D
