I Have Been To The Basement

crossover_chickMade my first trip down there today to see about pulling some info off files that were either too degraded or had stuff on them on first scanning. People there are very nice, but I don't envy them their job -- there's a LOOOT of files, and only one scanner. Then again, they probably don't envy me mine, which includes currently guestimating certain dates, soooo. . . Still, I'm having a good time of it so far. Excel has not failed me yet, and the guestimating keeps me busy so the day doesn't drag, I suppose.
Did get some writing done -- some edits on "In The Land of the Dead." Hoping to have another chapter of that up this Friday. I also have two things of note to report game-wise:
-->DragonVale: I'm getting the Leathery! :D Deepfyre and Tempest are obliging me at last. Now, like Gigs, I'll be working on Olympus dragons (plus the Bronze of the Treasures). I'm also thinking that, for the workweek, I'm gonna start growing Dragonfruit instead of Pumpermelons. DF takes a whole day to grow for 3,000 food, which works out a lot better with my work schedule.
-->Spellfall: After a nasty loss to him last night, I kicked Lord Treyfik's ass on the bus this morning! :D It was an admittedly narrow win, but some lucky cascades and enchanted runes won the day for me in the end. We are now in Kerimoor, land of Cold, and Eric and his team are working on finding the next piece of the prophecy (which is sounding very Star Wars with "light" and "dark" and "balance"). Tomorrow my abused savior (because we all know he is) will get his fire sword to help out in these areas. Yay!
All right, now I have dessert to eat, and then I gotta get some replies in the queue for RP purposes. Later!

Date: 2014-09-23 12:53 pm (UTC)The Cyclops will hatch today (he came with the name Zeus but I renamed him to Titan) and I've also got a Snowy Silver and a Gold Olympus in the Nursery (ABOUT DAMN TIME YOU MADE SOMETHING OTHER THAN A BRONZE, GUYS!!!...*ahem*). Slythe and Terra are making me another Olympus and I'm hopinghopinghoping that it's the Silver so I can be done with that set.
I'm saving Kairos for when the Autumn goes live. I currently have Full Nursery Syndrome but with his help the Cyclops and the Bronze Olympus can get out of there so I'll have those two slots open. The non-[Double] Rainbow combinations for the Autumn (I'll be using Air + Blue Fire and Blazing + Blizzard) can also result in the Snowy Olympus trio so maybe in the process I'll get the other two.
I bought another Large Olympus Habitat and I stuck it on the Tenth Island for now. I also moved the Large Seasonal Habitats around so I can see it better when the seasons change (the Seasonal Dragon especially). That's not their permanent place; I still haven't decided how I'm gonna set everything up yet. I just haven't had the time.
I believe that's all. Just waiting for 12:30 for the Autumn to go live. First try was a fail.

No luck at the moment, but just gotta keep plugging away. . . I wish you all the best with the others! And the Autumn too! The Autumn version of the Seasonal Habitats actually looks really nice. . .
I hear you on that front. My job is leaving me no time at all for catching up with anything, it feels like. :( I really have to figure out how to schedule my evenings better. I never seem to have enough time for anything that isn't queuing up RP replies on tumblr.

I saw on one of those 'promotional title cards' they put up, but I don't think I have the update yet because everyone's still in their usual place. I'll have to see the themes up close and in person before I decide if they're worth using.
