Reasons To Hate This Week

crossover_chickTerry Pratchett died today.
I knew it was coming -- I've known he had early-onset Alzheimer's for a while, and I'd suspected the reason his latest books were such continuity porn was because he wanted to go out on something epic -- but still. He was only 66, and -- damn it, it just seemed too soon. . . I just keep reminding myself he's in a better place now. And that he finished one last book, so sometime in the near future, we'll get one last novel from him. One last present to his fans.
Godspeed, Mr. Pratchett. May Death be as friendly as you always wrote him (well, except in the very first book).
I actually have my own creative endeavor to update on -- first chapter of "Triskaidekaphobia" is up! Now, this first chapter isn't too bad, but other chapters are probably going to get pretty creepy -- this is not for the faint of heart. I'm not as explicit as other authors can be about this sort of shit, but this is a fic about Victor's week of slavery to Bumby. Shit's gonna be at least mentioned. That being said, if you still want to read this, you can find it on FF.net and on AO3.
And that's all I really have time for tonight, since I've stayed up way too late to catch up on RPing and the like. G'night all, sleep tight. *goes to hug one of her Discworld books*

Date: 2015-03-13 04:49 pm (UTC)They pulled another fast one on us...this weekend is a Double, which MAKES NO SENSE!! Surely you'd want a spring/Easter event to have doubles on the weekend OF SPRING/EASTER!! But nope! I'm going on the assumption that next weekend (aka Spring Weekend) will not be a Double but the following will and thus the last weekend (Easter) will not be. We'll see what happens.
So now I've lost 15 from the Hidden Egg and since I've been grinding for Habitats and Treats and I almost had all 40 now it's gonna be a slow crawl for the other 40. Not to mention Kairos' quests.
Note to self: Don't collect ANYTHING on a Friday until after 12:30 lest they pull this one again. :/
Edit: Tell OckDoc that Scientific American got mentioned in "The Big Bang Theory". Two of the characters wrote a paper and they got an article in the magazine, but one character who did the interview didn't mention the second character and so the second character is in a snit for the duration of the episode.

B) Backflip may in fact have decided to be nice for once and ALL weekends will be Doubles -- kind of doubt it, though *shrug*
Fortunately my morning schedule means I'd already delayed finding the hidden egg and I hadn't maxed out treats or habitats yet. Not that I expect to do so now, but. . .did miss out on the Colosseum, though, but nothing I can do about that. *patpat* Just have to wait and see what transpires later!
