Today In BTTF III (Day 5). . .

Breakfast machine, 1885 style! Marty's butt! "Go ahead -- make my day!" Marty not interested in a new suit! Doc clearly way too lovey-dovey for his own good! The tombstone, the picture, and what they imply about the future! Marty doesn't want a coffin either! Switched catchphrases! Doc nearly blurts out Marty's future! Doc decides to stay in 1885! Marty convinces him that's a dumb idea! Marty does NOT convince him taking Clara to the future isn't! Doc says goodbye to Clara! Doc does not think to bring PROOF he's from the future and thus gets slapped! Doc wants whiskey even post the Fourth of July! The barbed wire salesman can't keep his nose out of Doc's business! Clara being one in a googolplex! (My spellcheck wanting to change that to Google!) Doc deciding "fuck it" and randomly sharing future facts with everyone!

Huh, for a day that doesn't take up a lot of screentime, you can sure get a lot of exclamations out of it.

Speaking of which, ended up watching the movie today for two reasons:

A) I woke up with my throat a bit sore and couldn't stop lazing around for no good reason

B) I looked at my schedule and figured it might be better to watch the two-hour movie on a night where I could stay up late to catch up on things

So yes, a good chunk of my day was spent curled up on the couch watching Doc and Marty do the Western thing. Not that I'm complaining, since I like that. :P After that, most of my day was spent lazing around on the web, listening to music and rereading part of a webcomic I occasionally check in with. Not really my greatest for productivity, I must say -- but then, I think I might have a very mild cold, so. . . I did get up five of my non-Thursday Charloft prompt fics on my website -- as you might imagine, BTTF III is really good for getting me in a Secundus mood. I also finished off my edits on "Card Castles" (w000), and I just came off a brief Sims session where I messed around with my Marty Sim (who really doesn't look all that bad, I just desperately need a better hair for him) and started on a Telltale Jennifer Sim! She's coming along all right so far, though I wish I could get her hair with the colored tips she had in the game. Managed a decent-looking outfit, though. We'll see how she comes along. :)

But yeah, other than that, not productive at all today. At least it's a three-day weekend and I can afford an "off" day. :P And I am going off to do RP tags and suchlike right now, so yeah. Though first, ice cream. :P Night all!

Yeah, I think that one was one of my big pet-peeves with that movie. They realize saving Clara has changed the past, and yet they decide not to 'make it worse' by leaving her there. Which is exactly what would make it worse. She's not supposed to be there any more! She's supposed to be dead at the bottom of the ravine. Really, their only logical choices would have been to either shove her over a cliff edge or take her with them. Even as a kid, I wanted to reach into the screen and slap 'em for the Logic Fail.

I actually wrote a fix fic based around that bit of silliness: Back To The Future Part III 1/2 Marty's reaction to Doc's "can't disrupt the space-time continuum for my own benefit" line this time is "Doc, she ain't the Sports Almanac." Not my best work, since it was written a while back, but still entertaining, I hope.

Yeah, I think I've read that one at some point. :) It just always got to me that they never realized that leaving her behind would be what would disrupt history at that point. That was the one thing they couldn't do, and Mr-supposed-genius was hung up on it being the only option. Which just proves that geniuses tend to save up all their dumb for the occasional big cash-out with interest. (I've done it lots of times myself, though not involving time travel.)

Neat :) And yeah -- I think Doc's problem is that he's good with theoretical stuff and time travel physics, but -- this IS the same guy who made a deal with Libyan terrorists to get plutonium for his time machine. Also the same guy who (along with Marty) couldn't figure out that maybe moving the branch off the cable FIRST would be best when the wind knocked it down in Part I.

It's one of his specialties, to be honest. Love the guy, but he doesn't always think things through. I've wondered for a while watching Part III how he expected to get into the DeLorean off that train.

Ed and I went to get him a suit yesterday for my cousin's wedding next month and I wound up quoting that scene while in the store, lol.
