Game's acting funny

The start menu doesn't want to come up. Luckily I have a shortcut I can use, but that makes the screen a little funny.
-D: Makes the screen a little funny?-
It's almost like it magnifies everything. It's hard to explain. Plus, it threw me out with no warning again -- although I suspect that's a computer problem, not a game one. *rrr* Ah, well, I got my SimGod stuff saved, and I didn't lose much with the Album neighborhood. Maybe when I play it again, Marty'll get a promotion and I'll remember to sell the gnome maker before midnight.
-M: That'll make it worth it.-
-D: How are you doing the album?-
You'll be narrating it, telling about your special clocks and Marty's special gift. I've made an upstairs room that will be first your childhood room (Verne will double for a young Doc), then a room in Clara's 1885 cabin. I also need to make a downtown lot with a "Clock Shop," so to speak. Of course, while I wait for picture opportunities, everyone's working on skills.
-VD: How are we in SimGod doing?-
Got another Glacial Glass, thankfully. I also did a total of your family magicoins --over 1100. Your lot costs 1000, so you'll have a little left over.
-M: Cool.-
Marty's also ready to charge up his extra spells and make famous friends. I need to make a list of all friends and see which ones I can let lapse to accomodate work friends for famous Marty and Jennifer. If I kept everybody, I'd go nutso.
-VM: And that's --
I'm still PMSing.
-VM: I'll shut up.-
*grin* I honestly think the Brown family in SimGod, the Home-Based Magicians, are my favorite family. They've become very rich through mostly non-cheating methods (I do use move_objects on to delete a few objects with monetary value, such as bunnies and magazines), both Doc and Marty maxed out jobs, and Marty's within two friends of maxing out Paranormal as well, they've completely unlocked the spellbook, and they've gotten almost all of their skills. Here's a little list, because I like making lists of this sort of thing:
VampDoc: 10 Cooking, 10 Mechanical, 5 Charisma, 3 Body, 10 Logic, 10 Creative
Marty: 9 Cooking, 5 Mechanical, 10 Charisma, 7 Body, 9 Logic, 10 Creative
Jennifer: 7 Cooking, 7 Mechanical, 7 Charisma, 7 Body, 7 Logic, 9 Creative
Marie: 10 Hunting, 0 Tricks, 1 Obedience
Yes, the cat is the slacker of the group. But she'll be moving out before the album's over.
-VD2: Wow. You've put a lot of effort into this family.-
I'll say. I'm going to make a back-up soon -- I keep meaning to and forgetting.
Speaking of meaning to do things and forgetting -- gotta do research for a story universe. Later.
