crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Or just an amazing coincidence, but you tell me. On the one hand, we have Marty McFly writing the letter to warn Doc of his impending doom; Marty taking his mother out to the dance, where she nearly takes some liberties with him (fortunately BTTF people come equipped with Incest Alerts); Biff Tannen making everything super-creepy by interrupting things and assaulting Lorraine; George McFly finally getting his rage on after finding Biff in the car and socking him straight in the gabber; Marty playing guitar to get his parents together once and for all (which nearly doesn't work thanks to Dixon, but fortunately George remembers he's badass at the last moment); Marty rocking it with Johnny B. Goode and providing a snippet of inspiration to Chuck Berry (you'll notice Marvin holds up the phone JUST as Marty's doing the Chuck Berry bit, right before he gets into more 70s/80s styles); Doc and Marty preparing for what is essentially Temporal Experiment #3; various forms of chaos with Doc finding the letter and ripping it up, the lighting-directing cable being taken out by a falling tree, the DeLorean stalling, and Doc nearly falling to his doom; and it all coming together at the last second, with honestly the most spectacular bolt of lightning ever seen on the big screen sending Marty BACK TO THE FUTURE!

On the OTHER hand, we have Marty McFly and Doc Brown from later in the timeline arriving to stop Biff Tannen from screwing up history with the sports almanac; Marty somehow both failing and succeeding at being inconspicuous (we may laugh at his clothes, but he was never noticed until the end!); Biff Tannen being an asshole to other people; Biff Tannen being an asshole to himself (from both sides too; it is glorious); Marty getting trapped in Biff's garage; Doc somehow both failing and succeeding at being inconspicuous -- despite a very close call with his younger self; Marty reattending the dance on Biff's tail; Marty getting his hand crushed by Strickland; the Almanac not being a book of French pin-ups; George punching Biff from a different angle; "Hey, he just took that guy's wallet!"; Marty having to climb over himself rocking it with Johnny B. Goode to stop Biff's goons from breaking history; Marty getting distracted by his "chicken" thing at the worst possible moment (though you have to admit, him getting smacked in the face by himself is a perfect comedic moment, especially with Biff's expression); epic hoverboard/car battle over the almanac; manure city for Biff again; the restoration of the proper timeline, as handily shown through changing matchbooks and newspapers; Doc getting rocketed back to the past; Western Union proving to be incredibly reliable when it comes to delivering 70-year-old letters; and Marty scaring the crap out of 1955 Doc, ending things with our favorite scientist sprawled on the pavement.

Whew! Busy day indeed.

Wasn't so busy for me, however -- work was pretty standard, though fortunately I had a couple of different "projects" to break things up and keep it from getting too monotonous. Weather was mainly "rainy and miserable," bleck. We're supposed to get some sunshine tomorrow -- keep your fingers crossed!

As for my Backie leanings, went ahead and watched BTTF once I got home -- ah, nothing like settling in with a good meal and a favorite Blu-Ray. Does mean I'm delayed in some stuff, but I've been catching up the best I can. Helps that I can use my lunchbreak to draft certain replies beforehand. I even managed a 10:04 BTTF post on VictorLuvsAlice! So that was nice. :)

Anyway -- better get back to the grind. Just a handful of Backie days to go! Night all!

So I'm sitting here at work at the reception desk bored out of my mind with DC4,839,171,567 and thinking Why am I saving this cash again?? so I bit the bullet and bought the Thirteenth Island. I'll probably use that for the pedestals or something. *shrug*

Edit: Also I'm rereading Secundus to keep myself awake and I caught a spelling blooper in Chapter Three when Victor is telling Doc and Marty his life story.

Bu there was nothing particularly unusual about my childhood.

I'm sure you can see why. I know you're working on FV and aren't thinking of Secundus but that's tamer to read at work than FV is. :p

Other edit: omg did you see the trailer for the Atop the Fourth Wall movie? Looks awesome.
