There Will Be Bed

crossover_chickThis upcoming Tuesday, anyway. I may have mentioned before that my Christmas present this year is a new bed from my parents, and today after work we went out shopping for it. Hit up Cardi's and looked at their selection -- focusing on beds with shelves underneath so I have more places to put all my various crap. Took a bit of wandering but eventually we found something I felt was acceptable. Also tried out new mattresses, getting a new softer one to go with said bed. It's all arriving December 1st, so I'll have it for the entire holiday season. Be weird having to adjust to a new bed, but hopefully it'll be a good "oh hey this is a lot more comfortable" weird. We also got dinner at The Corner Bakery Cafe -- Dad suggested a panini to me, so I got a chicken one. Pretty good, I must say -- and I got Dad's pickle because he didn't want it. :P
Work itself was all right -- showed off what I've done with the CAP website to the manager and other curious onlookers (though not to the person I thought I would be demonstrating it to -- he got caught up in another meeting). The official launch is coming up two weeks from now, and I'll be demonstrating it to a looooot of people then. Oh boy -- I've gotten better at this "talking in front of people" thing, but still. Bit nervewracking. But we're going to have a dry run of it the week before (that's the plan anyway), and my supervisor will be there to help, so that'll be good.
Did not progress any in Chapter 23 of "Forgetting You" -- inspiration was lacking, so instead I revised a random scene from my Pern Crash AU that I wasn't satisfied with. To be fair, I do post those on my tumblr from time to time, so it is still productive work, but. . .tomorrow, first thing, watching Hell's LP and getting another chunk done. This story has got to be DONE done by the end of the year.
Oh, and speaking of dragons, DragonVale is hosting the Om of Noms! Which is an event without most of the event trappings -- no grinding for special items or official "prizes." Just hidden bundles of dragon treats to find, two new limited dragons to breed, and the Treatery in the market for 1,250 gems (I can afford it but I was never much interested in it). I like this -- this is a good way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Also have a new friend on there who is much better at scoring prizes during events -- first one I've seen with the Lost Island! Slightly jealous, I must admit. One day, that thing will be mine. . .
All right, now to make the decision of "active RP or just slapping up a queue" on tumblr, and posting DW replies (since I have a bunch of those now and I'm not feeling completely exhausted). Night all!
