Stress Day

Starting right from when I was supposed to go to work -- not only was my usual bus late, it also broke down right after it left the mall where I catch it. Full on breakdown too -- the bus driver couldn't even get it out of the middle of the road. Luckily the next bus in line, the 7:15, was already there and picked up both me and the other girl who was waiting, but considering I REALLY wanted the extra cushion of time this morning so I'd be ready for our launch party today, I wasn't exactly happy.
Fortunately, I still got to work on time, only to discover I'd beat my supervisor there and couldn't get at the laptop we needed for the presentation/actual launch. (It was an online giving portal -- we kind of needed an actual computer.) Fortunately my other coworkers showed up soon enough, and I was able to get at it, get it downstairs, and make sure everything was working as it should before we started. The actual launch went pretty smoothly -- about 20-so people were there to see, and I was able to walk the guy in charge, who was making the first gift, through the giving page and explain all the options. Money went through, everyone seemed happy, yay.
The part immediately following was less fun -- my supervisor went back upstairs, leaving me to handle questions on data collection and what happens in the process. Most people were nice, though there was some confusion about the timing of various letters (which I don't know that much about, unfortunately), and one woman was pretty annoyed that she hadn't gotten her data back (I rushed that off to her in an e-mail immediately after the presentation). I kept my head, which is a good thing, but I was feeling pretty stressed afterward. Not helped by feeling like I had to do five things at once when I finally got back to my workstation. Muddled through, though, and got to the end of the day.
And then it was time to get up the next chapter of "Forgetting You" (Chapter 24 if you recall), and I found myself both struggling to rephrase some awkward wording (got it in the end, I hope) and fighting with the html to make sure the bold text stayed where I wanted it to be. Took longer than I wanted, but I wrestled it into submission: on FF.net, on AO3, and on my own website. Just one more chapter to go, and I'm still on-track for that to be next Friday. Hoorah.
Anyway -- after all that, plus the start of the Frostival (which comes with its own advent calendar of sorts), I felt justified in taking a night off from tumblr. My DW replies are pre-written, so I'll probably slap them up in a moment, but I couldn't summon up the muse for anything else. Better not to force it so I'm fresh tomorrow. So yeah -- DW replies up, then I'm off to bed. Night all, sleep tight~
