Okay Really Rushed One Tonight

-->Gathering of Roses has started! New game is a matching minigame -- you know, where you have to find two of the same card. You win roses for each match (determined by the number on the cards) -- but I'm pretty sure you LOSE roses for each failed attempt (plus it takes away from your tries, meaning if you're really bad you could use up all your plays for both that AND the Wheel of Chance in one go with minimal/no gain). I'm -- not entirely sure I like this new system. *sigh* Have to look at it this way -- just need enough for new habitats and new dragons. Everything else is a bonus.

-->Got more "Remembering You" done, so that's a good thing. Victoria's making more tea -- and I just realized I'm going against the common fandom grain by making her able to cook! I figured she would have had to learn to help keep the family fed, so. . .

-->Lots of answering the phone at work -- people getting their tax stuff. I need to start on my own taxes soonish. . .hopefully I'll be getting money back.

-->Forgot to mention yesterday was Mom's birthday! She liked the thermos I got her (well, Dad helped me get it since my free time is lacking). Dad got her some new boots, a new handbag, and new earrings, so that was nice. And we had very nummy cheesecake, mmmm~ So that was good.

No, you know what evil thing BFS is doing probably to discourage hoarding Roses until you get enough to get just what you want? If you look at the Rose Depot you see that some of the prizes are locked? You need to either spend the Roses in order to unlock them or Co-Op Breed the Rose, Thorn and Love Dragons for them and their Pedestals. Now if you already have some of the things then they're automatically counted, like whatever prizes that were gotten last Gathering or already having a Rose, Thorn and Love Dragon/Pedestal.

So my "Lilac Collection" is locked with 7/10 and my "Lotus Collection" is locked with 7/15. I'll be seeing if I can Co-Op Breed the Rose Dragon to get the Pedestal for free and same with the Moonstruck.

If I calculated right, thinking that since this was a Double then the weekend after next should be (since that's Valentine's weekend), then all-in-all we should get a total of 24500 Roses (with the free ones they give you for completing the tutorial) or maybe 25500 if they're still collectable on Monday the 15th. The Aura Habitat (1995), Serenity Dragon (3270), Ire Dragon (4300), Delight Dragon (5495) and Melancholy Dragon (5495) all total 20555 Roses. That leaves 3945 (or 4045) to play around with.

If I'm right. Sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not. Still, I'm gonna do my best to cheat the system the best I can. As long as they don't take away a prize set then I won't worry about it. Well, much.

So that's how the locking system works -- I couldn't figure it out! Mine are locked at 6/10 and 6/15. Well, I'm fine with co-oping some dragons to get the pedestals -- there's not much else for me to co-op breed at the moment. And of course I'll want the new habitat early. *shrug* However, you're right, it is pretty evil. But I've gotten used to that sort of behavior from them. (And on further experimentation, it seems that you don't lose roses after all from failed matches in the memory game, so that's all right then.)

I imagine they'll still be collectible on Monday, all their "endings" actually happen the day after from what I've seen. I can't comment on your Rose total, as I have no idea what the max is (the wiki is not updating fast enough or I can't find the right links). Pretty damn sure I didn't hit it yesterday, though. Didn't have any eggs to sell, sadly, and not enough time either. But so long as I can get enough for the habitats and dragons, I'll be happy. (Just remember, there's going to be a "Limited" dragon sometime. . .hopefully it'll still be the kind we can breed!)

They'd better not take away a prize set. I'll -- well, I don't know what I'll do, beyond swear at my iPad. *grump*
