crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)

Watched the first three videos on Helloween's revisit to this game -- it was the second one he ever LPed, and after doing Alice over, he wanted to take a look at this one too. Unlike Alice, I haven't seen the old LP of this one (I've caught up with some of his older LPs, but not all, and I wasn't a subscriber until he did Madness Returns), so this is all-new on my end -- and it's reigniting my love for cosmic horror and eldritch things HARD, let me tell you. There's sanity effects and a special healing system and we've already been attacked by a Deep One and it's just great so far. Too great, in fact -- while I managed to avoid it for a while, I did end up going on TV Tropes in response, and you know what happens when I'm allowed free reign on that website. . .

Did get a few things done, though:

-->Finished up the "Radcliffe" chapter of "Remembering You," prepping the "Van Dorts meet Nan Sharpe" chapter. Not entirely sure where it's going just yet, but the comedic potential makes me think it's worth it. We'll see!

-->Posted the last four prompts from Winter Bingo Card Three on the website -- if you like sweet moments with Victor and his family, this is your set. (In fact, it seems to have inspired one of my RP partners on tumblr. . .)

-->Got through the Weighted Companion Cube test room in Portal which is trickier than expected. There's three High Energy Pellets to direct -- one involves putting a portal at just the right angle so it hits the ceiling and bounces off into the receiver; one involves deflecting the pellet the right way with the Companion Cube; and one involves not only placing portals in just the right spots, but also placing the cube on a button in such a way so the pellet doesn't hit it AND figuring out how to operate another button in time to open two doors so the pellet can actually reach the receiver (hint: You can stand on cameras to gain extra height). Took me a while, and I died once after getting hit with a ricocheting pellet, but it's done now. Also found the Rattman Den, which is so much weirder up close. Poor Doug. . . Also got the achievement for killing the Companion Cube, poor thing. At least we know it comes back to you in the sequel.

And I just did my tumblr queues, so I'm set there. Time to slap up a DW reply and hit the sheets. Night all!

I will admit I have a little scene in the back of my head of Victor introducing Chester to Seundus!AL and, prompted by one too many sleepless nights, just asking innocently if she can read the baby's mind.

The answer is "yes and no". I've borrowed the idea (from the book "Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger") that babies, especially young ones, don't think in words. They think in pure emotion. So whether she'd be of help or not would depend on the situation, lol.

Haha, yes! I own the three main books (though where they are I don't know...in a box somewhere from one of my moves). I swear my copy of Stranger had a special cover that glowed in the dark.

I was going to make a quip about the haters giving us crap about our Mary Sues and yet Louis the yard teacher is expressly stated to have written the books we're reading and look how popular the books were, but he's not exactly a main character, so I won't. ^^ Still, he did wind up falling in love in the last one, lol.

Did you know there was a TV series? I watched it while it was on; it was enjoyable enough for an adult watching a kid's show. Todd is a transfer student and the "Only Sane Man", trying to conform to the offbeatness of the school but, as in the books, he always gets sent home on the kindergarten bus. They actually have an official YouTube channel where you can watch most if not all of the series. I know your time is limited as hell, but I figured I'd include the link in case you're interested in taking a peek.
