Having a Lazy Night
Apr. 14th, 2016 11:33 pmThough I should really actually start doing things as I do have a deadline -- zoo trip tomorrow, and we'd be leaving around 11 (since that's when Mom gets off work), so staying up until the wee hours of the night isn't really an option. I'd like to get to bed around 1:30 to aim for 9:30 wake-up time, which will give me a little time to get ready and play around on the iPad (possibly even write). So let's have some highlights before I tackle the tumblrs:
-->Work day looked like it was going to start off bad when I started trying to print stuff, only to discover the servers -- and thus the printer, and all the usual drives we use to save stuff on the job -- were down. Fortunately the IT people got them back up shortly after 9, and I actually ended the day completely caught up on my usual tasks! :D So that was nice.
-->Have discovered a treasure trove of Corpse Bride concept art and storyboards on a tumblr dedicated to the Victors of CB and Frankenweenie. Highlights so far include a storyboard that, thanks to the perspective, makes it look like Victor's dealing with the results of "Eat Me" cake; a sequence with Paul about the wedding feast that reveals Victor is allergic to artichokes; and a variation on the arrival of the Dead topside in the end that has WILLIAM AND NELL in town! Clearly after a crash, since Nell's got a wheel around her neck and William's carrying the decorative fish. Considering they just disappear in the final product once Mayhew kicks the bucket, this is actually pretty fascinating! (And yes, Forgotten is LIVID this was cut.)
-->Still working on the Dr. Wilson chapter of "Losing You" -- going pretty well so far. :) I got to make fun of his insanely complicated first name too -- who names their kid Heironymous? And then follows it up with a Q as the middle initial? (I've already decided it stands for "Quincy.") Dr. Wilson prefers to go by "Harry" with those who know him on that level, and no surprise. He's getting along well with Victor, which I think will add an extra punch to when he returns in "Remembering You" and Victor's initially afraid of him because -- well, psychiatrist with glasses and a beard.
-->Finished Terry Pratchett's defictionalized The World of Poo -- very amusing little tale about poop and all the people who clean up after it. Geoffrey's a cute kid, and I'll admit it -- it was funny watching all the ways different people shit in Ankh-Morpork. Plus there is an adorable puppy -- how can you not like adorable puppies?
-->Considering getting the "Fallout Shelter" app game because a friend on tumblr has been talking about Fallout 4 a lot, and it's getting to the point where I'm trying to make a Valice AU for a game I know so little about, I think of one character as the main scientist from The Thing and another as a Founding Father (Macready and John Hancock, respectively). The app would at least be a minor introduction into the world itself. And people seem to like it, for the most part, so. . . *shrug* Free, too, which is always nice. And capable of offline play, which is even better.
And that's about it. Time to set up queues and answer any remaining tags before bedtime hits. Night all, sleep tight!
