crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)

Had my first moment of true terror during driving practice today -- hit the gas instead of the brake while practicing parking, and nearly drove into a fence. Hit the brake before anything happened, fortunately, but it definitely rattled me. I've been in some scary shit like that as a passenger, but it's worse when you're the driver. I proceeded to cry for a bit while Dad told me it was okay and I did fine and it happens to everybody and I shouldn't let it upset me. I appreciated the sentiment, but honestly I think him telling me not to be upset just made it worse.

The rest of the lesson actually went pretty well, at least -- I'm getting the hang of how you're supposed to make turns (including signaling them) and staying in my lane and all that. Parking remains tricky, though, simply because it's hard to figure out how to stay between the lines when you're so close to them. Plus I still have trouble figuring out where the front of the car is. . . Reversing is scary still too. *sigh* Well, I should have another lesson with Mom tomorrow after the Pats game, and I'm gonna try not to let what happened today get me. And not crack up the car, that's important.

Rest of the day was fine, happily:

-->Have managed to score both the Bubble and the Nebula in DragonVale! Now I just need to get the new Molten dragon, and I'll only be one off having them all. . .until the Halloween event starts, of course. :P

-->Wrote some more on Chapter 13 -- finished up the Radcliffe house section, have started on the last. Should be able to finish that off tomorrow! w0000~

-->Watched Linkara (Pryde of the X-Men pilot) and Nostalgia Critic (Rocky & Bullwinkle movie). Curiously, they both had the same opinion of their stuff -- mostly average. Linkara admitted he wasn't surprised the show wasn't picked up and was kinda corny, but it had some good ideas; Nostalgic Critic said the movie was actually a great adaptation of the show in that some jokes were great and some completely off the mark, and if you're a fan you'd probably enjoy it. Okay then!

-->Also watched Helloween show off the old god C'thun in World of Warcraft (while waxing nostalgic about the days when you needed a forty-person party to take on the eldritch horror) and fumble his way through an untranslated Japanese puzzle game, Puyopuyo Tetris. He's always good for a laugh. :)

-->Played more Bloodlines -- Harry the Gangrel talked to the homeless peeps (including giving $5 to Tin Can Bill despite having the persuade option to avoid it, because hell with it he's high Humanity), then went after Brother Kanker in the sewers. Took me three tries to beat the Protean-using asshole, and I used up nearly all my blood in doing so -- fortunately, I was able to suck my way back to health with sewer rats, then went over to the Empire Arms hotel and hid in the men's toilet until some guy came in for a pee. Yes, that IS my new modus operandi for getting an easy meal. XD Then it was over to Damsel to show her the flyer Kanker dropped and advance the quest, then over to plague cult headquarters to literally explode zombies with a fire axe. No, seriously, about half of them fell into pieces once I'd hit them enough. I also did a little target practice with my guns -- I think only one managed to get anything resembling a hit on me. Bishop Vick's boss fight is looking tough, though -- ass has a shotgun and super speed. I got killed on the first attempt -- luckily I'm saved right outside his room, AND have some experience to burn. Maybe another level in Fortitude. . .

-->Watched Zero Punctuation on Recore, which Yahtzee did not like much due to dragging gameplay in a not-very-interesting environment. More interesting is that he is now stateside! He used to live in Australia, you see. [insert favorite 'the wildlife there is less dangerous than the election here' joke of your choice]

-->And now I'm caught up on tumblr and doing some RP stuffs -- nothing too crazy, but I do have some plans for Halloween. . .

And that's about it. Tomorrow is more Haunting Ground and F.E.A.R, w0000~ Right now, it is time for writing things -- night!
