Just Finished Wrapping Christmas Presents
Dec. 23rd, 2016 11:26 pmThis takes on less significance when you remember that I only buy for two people -- my mom and my dad. :P But hey, now they're wrapped, I made up little tags for them, and I can put them in the present pile when I go downstairs in a minute. They're not wrapped very NEATLY, but that's kind of a Chapman family tradition -- Mom complained before she has no idea how to wrap most presents. XD
Been a fairly decent Christmas Eve Eve -- the highlights:
-->Did a little editing on Chapter 9 of "Remembering You," because I had the day off and felt I could sneak it in. Just a few tweaks to the opening scene, but it's something!
-->Had my driving lesson, which was going up and down the sea wall for the most part. Went -- okay. Most of the time I was fine, but I had a bad swerve on a fortunately empty road trying to change where my sun visor was, and nearly cut someone off when I didn't notice them coming on a green where they had the right of way (one of those where you have a green light and a green arrow, and the latter wasn't lit) -- fortunately I stopped in time. Dad wasn't pleased -- he claimed after the fact he wasn't mad, but I don't believe that for a minute. Not that he didn't have every right to be, that second one in particular could have been a bad accident. I was angry at me too. We're all fine, I promise, but -- ugh. I know I can't be perfect after just a few months of driving, but I hate making those sorts of mistakes. *sigh* Nothing to do but keep at it, I guess.
-->Got the next chapter of "Remembering You" up! Though I should warn you, it's got some dark themes. Not as dark as when I had Pris Witless kill herself, but -- still. Some disturbing imagery, some Alice being vaguely suicidal again. . .read with caution. You can find it on FF.net, on AO3, or my website. *waits for the inevitable typo notice*
-->Also went ahead and got the last old "Week of Secundus Christmas" prompt on the website: remember my silly carols? Actually rather proud of them, looking back -- I'm not usually good with songs or song parodies, but these little snippets came out well. :)
-->Watched Linkara take on the "Elvira's House of Mystery" Christmas special, which featured a rather uneven and silly "Christmas Carol" parody with Elvira herself; a good story about a thief getting just what he deserves on Christmas; a rather strange but comedic tale about a Christmas tree going very wrong; and a frankly depressing parody of "Twas The Night Before Christmas" about aliens discovering Earth after a nuclear holocaust and shooting Santa. Yeaaaah. Fortunately Linkara kept things light -- I do love him. :)
-->Played some Vampire -- Harry successfully got Ash away from the hunters stalking his club, though it took two reloads and some abuse of Fortitude. Helpful little Discipline against people trying to shoot you or slash you up with katanas! Harry's now back on the main Hollywood quest and parked outside Andre the Tzmisce's house to get his boss fight on. Hopefully it'll go well!
And that's about it. Busy day, overall. And I still want to get something done on my new RP tumblr. . .think I'll do that now. After I bring my newly-wrapped presents downstairs, of course. Night all!

Date: 2016-12-25 04:30 am (UTC)And yeah, that's kinda why I stuck a warning on it, both here and tumblr. . . And just think, it could have been even worse had I not realized my original idea was too dark and too OOC. Yeeps. But I'm glad the end made you happy. I wanted to show that Bumby's evil really WAS being defeated -- even if Victor and Alice are still struggling some, good is coming out of their pain.
