Moving in the Claytons

crossover_chickAnd what I thought might be a dysfunctional family (Clara and Lorraine started off with double minus signs) turned into a very successful one. I put everyone to work satisfying wants and such -- Lorraine and Clara also got jobs, as a Dishwasher and a Test Subject respectively. The welcome wagon was Nervous Subject, Pollination Technician #9, and -- Doc!
Doc and Clara hit it off pretty quickly -- despite the fact Clara leans toward serious, she happily accepts jokes. :) Nervous busied himself making PT cry a lot, which resulted in his eventual dismissal from the lot.
-D: Nervous Subject doesn't get along well with others, does he?-
You have to take into account where he lives -- Circe and Loki Beaker have no nice points at all. He's unfortunately picking up their habits. Josephine also showed up later, she and Clara got along okay. And, true to my word, I had Jennifer invite Marty over. They greeted each other with a silly ritual, talked for a while, played, and got to Crush Status. A busy day at their house, but a good one too. Especially for Marty and Jennifer:

-M: *giggle*-
The next day, all go to work and school. Lorraine got a chance card -- she could either finish the dishes, or she could help the chef cook to impress a critic. I told her to finish the dishes, and good thing -- the critic turned out to be the health inspector! Lorraine earned herself a little bonus for making sure all was clean. :)
-M: Go Mom!-
Jennifer has Clara teach her how to study that day, results in a nice memory for them. Lorraine also comes home with a promotion to Fast Food Clerk, and gets the following day as one of her off days.
The next day starts off a bit badly -- Jennifer, trying to fulfill a want to make Toaster Pastries, manages to set the toaster oven on fire. I didn't want Clara's platinum mood ruined, so I scooted her into another room. Luckily there was enough time for Jennifer to take a shower before she went to school. Lorraine later invited PT over and befriended him, fulfilling a want. Jennifer came home from school with a B+ grade, and invited Marty over. They became best friends, pushing them both into SUPER PLATNIUM -- right to the fricking top of the bar! It was cute too, to see Jennifer's wants -- "Entertain Marty," "Appreciate Marty," "Tell Joke to Marty," "Tickle Marty--"
-J: *blush* *giggle*-
-M: How do you know I went into that Super Platinum thing?-
Simple -- your major Power want was to have three best friends. I saw you grab the rewards points. :) You two have a very nice time together, I can tell you. Marty even got a backrub.
-VD: Romance is in the air, it seems.-
Yup. Clara's doing good on being platinum too.
Over at the Brown boys, I had a brief window in which everyone was in platnium mood. Marty of course had had his major want fulfilled -- now you want five best friends. Doc desperately wants his latest logic point -- he has both a want to gain a logic point and a want to get up to 9 logic points. Everybody did pretty good today -- Marty brought home a friend, Kendal, from school and tried to properly befriend her. Didn't work, I'll save that for another time. He also got a phone call from Jennifer. George got a promotion to Science Teacher. Doc got a correct chance card -- the poor guy was being forced to do ridiculous stuff like test if the law of gravity still works.
-D: WHAT?! A monkey could do that!-
Exactly the point of the chance card -- let the monkey do it, or complain to your boss. I had a hunch you'd get in trouble with the monkey and had you complain to your boss. Turns out the test was your ability to think independently, you passed, collect 700 simoleons bonus.
-D: *grumble* SimMe deserves more than 700 simoleons.-
Visit from Clara? And Josephine?
-D: *perks up* What happened?-
Clara tried to get you to play Red Hands, but you declined. Josie decided to start the catfighting by complimenting you. The girls argued, and George entertained Josephine while Doc and Clara went at it at the chess board. It was a late game, that only ended by a tired Clara heading home.

I know. Now to get Lorraine and George to meet and get some Romances blossoming.
