Import File Tuesday
Nov. 14th, 2017 11:14 pmThat's what I was working on for most of the day, anyway -- a file of new people to import into our system. Or SUPPOSEDLY new people -- we'll see what happens when I do the actual import. I was HOPING to get it done today, but there was more editing to do than I first thought. Names that needed cleaning up, organizations to sort out, parish IDs to correct. At least I should be able to get it down tomorrow. However long it freaking takes (it's a BIG file). And then my supervisor is away Thursday and Friday, so I'll be sending along the compiled information to the mailing people for labels. . .at least she's promised to show me how it works. Shouldn't be too scary, really, just -- responsibility. Can't muck this up.
Not much else to report on for today. Did some more writing on "Secundus 2" -- establishing the future plot point of the Grasshopper Tea Victor's invented, mainly. Just gotta get Victor actually out the door, and I can get the gang to Hill Valley! :) That'll feel good -- Victor's reunion with Doc and Marty is a scene that's played out in my head dozens of times over the years between this story and "Secundus." I can promise you all the hugs.
I also watched LGR's Cats & Dogs review -- as with most things Sims 4, his feelings are mixed. He likes the cats and dogs themselves, the CAS customization options for them, and approves of them not being directly controllable, but doesn't appreciate that you can't check up on ANY of their stats (they have no UI, meaning you can't even be sure how old they are, what their traits are, or what tricks they've learned unless you take meticulous notes), and feels like the expansion is more of a game pack given it has a lot less in the way of animals than the previous games' "Pets" expansions. Basically, his opinion is "if you really like the fuzzballs, then it's probably worth full price to you -- if you don't, wait for a sale." Which I might do -- I like the little fuzzballs from what I've seen, but not paying full price for things is also good. Hmmm. . .
Rest of the evening has been largely the usual catching up on stuff, doing queues, and answering comments/PMs. You know, the usual workday stuff. So time for me to wrap that up and hit the sheets. Night all, sleep tight!
