crossover_chick | Surprise At Work Today

The office went out to lunch about one o'clock at one of the local pizza joints (though only one of us had pizza -- I had a meatball sub that turned out to be a mistake because they use spicy meatballs and I am a Typical White Person who hates spicy food), and near the end of the meal, our general boss said that "the office is closed once we get back!" Me, I thought he was joking.

And then we got back and my coworkers started packing up and I realized holy crap he was SERIOUS.

So yeah, I ended up getting out of work around 3 today -- after a scramble to finish up a stock gift I was putting on for our new capital campaign (I'd gotten the actual gift on the lady's account; I just needed to put the finishing touches on the acknowledgement letter). Not my preferred way to get some extra time off (I like having a bit more warning), but hell, I'll take it. Allowed me some time to:

-->Write another gift fic -- I'm pretty much done with those now, although I might be adding at least one more before Christmas actually hits

-->Catch up on some Yandere Simulator videos I wanted to watch (the student council's now in the game! They're an interesting bunch, as Jay found out)

-->Watch the OX X-Mas Challenges (I didn't mention those yesterday! Mike failed his latest challenge (WWE 2018 wrestling challenge -- trying to win an eight-man throwdown without being tossed out of the ring), while Andy succeeded in stealth-killing a nasty flamethrower enemy in The Evil Within 2. Over on the OXtra side, Ellen slaughtered Luke in a Rey vs Kylo Star Wars Battlefront 2 lightsaber duel (she was Rey), while Luke roundly defeated Ellen in a timed race to tame a deer and ride it to a certain village in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (mostly because Ellen kept scaring her deer and once accidentally killed it instead of taming it))

-->Watch a "look at the cool way this person redid one of my builds" video from The Sim Supply -- somebody took a house he did that was hidden under a fake rock pool and turned it into a secret possibly-kind-of-evil lab :D

-->Post the rest of "A Multiverse Christmas Carol" to AO3 and update my VictorLuvsAlice queue accordingly

So yeah, fairly productive afternoon, I suppose. Of course, what I really should have done is start wrapping Christmas presents -- I'll have to set aside some time tomorrow to do that. Gotta have 'em ready for Monday, after all! At least everything we're getting people is bought/created at this point. . .

But that's something to worry about tomorrow. I gotta get to bed -- two more days to go! Night all!
