And We're DONE
Dec. 22nd, 2017 11:27 pmOut of work until the new year comes! It perhaps wasn't the most productive of days, but I got the two projects I wanted to get done done -- finishing up my current round of roster maintenance, and getting the credit card reject letters out of the way. I also got some more coworker presents:
-->A $20 Dave & Buster's gift card (which, given going to D & B is kind of a standard birthday thing for me, works out very nicely)
-->A glass snowflake mug and bowl set, with some candy, Rice Krispies Treats, and a packet of hot chocolate
-->A birthday card at lunch, which was sweet
My mom also got a present from my supervisor (I think I know what it is, but I won't say here in case I'm wrong), and the coworker who got me the mug and bowl set also gave her one, which was incredibly sweet of them. And everybody loved the coasters Mom and I made them, which was great. :) We all ended up going out to lunch and having a nice time. I had a Philly flatbread sandwich this time around, which was a vast improvement on the meatball sub. Just -- I don't handle spicy well! Everybody chatted, hugs were exchanged, and then I got to go home!
Once at home, I:
-->Wrote another gift fic -- had a sudden brainwave over one I wasn't sure about, so that was nice
-->Started up BioShock 2, which -- okay, the original BioShock is pretty, especially for a ten-year-old game, but the sequel so far is DAMN PRETTY. The graphics quality is improved, the environments are richer, there's a bigger variety of character models, and OMG WALKING ON THE OCEAN FLOOR AS A BIG DADDY AND THEN COMING UP TO RAPTURE AND SEEING IT IN ALL ITS DECREPIT GLORY -- freaking amazing. :D Also, it is very nice to be the monster with the drill and rivet gun, instead of having to face them. (Yet, anyway.) Though cripes, are Big Sisters scary! Thanks for throwing one at me right at the start of the game, BS2! *whimpers* Especially when I'm still getting used to the controls. . .a lot of stuff is the same from BioShock, at least in regards to movement, but healing yourself/using EVE uses different buttons, which -- well, I suspect I'm really going to need those Vita-Chambers in the early days. Still, looking forward to getting more into the world and story. :)
-->Made supper -- well, sort of. Mom actually created the meatloaf, but I cooked it. Came out just fine, and we had a nice meal.
-->Watched some Yandere Simulator Myths from Jay (he's found some interesting glitches), the latest OX XMas challenges (Mike scored another point by using a low-ranking team in the latest FIFA soccer game to beat a premiere league team -- 2-0 as well; Luke managed to beat Ellen in a "draw Pikachu in Prey using the GLOO cannon's glue globs" challenge -- yes, really), and the second of Helloween's Saturday Donkey Kong Country sets (he has beaten the game, but at the cost of many gorilla and chimpanzee lives -- to be fair, though, that game is pretty unforgiving in spots).
-->Currently working on getting my inbox as cleared out as possible -- I've answered all my AO3 comments, my FF.net review and PMs, and now -- time to see if I can finish off that one DW PM! Been sitting in my inbox for a week, after all.
Not doing the RP thing tonight -- just not feeling it. I'm a bit tired (particularly after the long queue yesterday) and I'd rather get this stuff done. Go into it tomorrow with a clear head and relatively clear conscience.
So yeah -- off to do that now. Night all!
