crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

The reason for that subject line is twofold:

-->I spent most of this morning reading Lovecraft's TV Tropes page, as well as a few related pages (including the adventures of Old Man Henderson, one of the funniest derailers of a Cthulhu campaign ever)

-->I watched Helloween's final, extra-long Darkwood set this afternoon, which included some pretty damn eldritch things happening in that creepy forest (which Helloween then proceeded to set on fire, because fire cures all)

So yeah, I'm in a bit of an "eldritch horrors from beyond" mood, not helped by this semi-persistent idea to do a 20s "jazz band" AU that is actually a "investigating Lovecraftian horrors" AU with Victor, Victoria, Emily, Bonejangles, Lizzie, and Alice. At least I know what I'm posting on Thursday. . .

Been a pretty nice, low-key Christmas Eve though, all things considered. In addition to the above, I:

-->Finished the latest "Technicolor Phase" short, with Alice discovering Victor, Victoria, and Emily are only too happy to return her affections :)

-->Played some BioShock 2 -- game crashed AGAIN on me, which is starting to look like a worrying trend. *grumbles* And weirdly enough, the crash resulted in the controller getting stuck on the "rumble" setting for a while. O.o Stopped once I restarted, but -- yeah. Odd. *shrug* I did get farther along, though -- Sofia Lamb has shown her face, I've killed a bunch of splicers, hacked a few things, and -- just as I quit for the day -- gotten my first set of "trap rivets." We'll see if I actually use them -- if I'm going to be laying traps, I tend to prefer to use explosives. Game remains pretty, and I'm getting used to the controls. Hopefully soon I will get better at killing Splicers -- already had to use my first Vitachamber revival. Meh. At least I'm up to two plasmids now! Kinda miss the old hacking minigame, though -- this "stop the needle" one isn't as fun. Ah well.

-->Watched some Yandere Simulator myths (it is possible to kidnap student council members, but it results in some interesting glitchiness); a video from The Sim Supply showing off a "snow" mod that reskins the neighborhoods to look like winter (pretty!); the latest OX Box Christmas Challenge (Jane was robbed of a point by there somehow being NO CATS in Ancient Alexandria -- her challenge was to find and pet five in ten minutes in the latest Assassin's Creed game. She did eventually find and pet one, but way outside the time limit. And she almost got mauled by a hyena too. Tomorrow's the tiebreaker between Andy and Mike!); and Linkara reviewing the Steam Wars Holiday Special (a steampunk Star Wars parody -- he reviewed the main one a while back -- taking on the famous Holiday Special and actually making it into a decent story. Despite the fact that the Wookies are now alien bears. With punny names like Smokey, Yogiee, and Little Buo. *shakehead*)

-->Answered those PMs and comments I didn't get to the other night, yay.

-->Learned how to make meatballs (I really wish chopping up onions didn't make me tear up so bad! But at least the actual meatballs came out good) with sausage and pasta for dinner

-->Opened my Christmas Eve present -- the American McGee's Alice official soundtrack! I'll be listening to it tonight if I can get it out of the darn case. . . Mom opened her new slippers (she loves them), and Dad his flag (he loves it). :)

-->Currently doing the RP thing and going to get up my gift fic queue for tomorrow, as it be Christmas! Yay Christmas! :)

So yeah, better get on those latter activities again. I'll be back tomorrow with a gift fic post! Have a good night!
