More FREAKING COLD
Dec. 28th, 2017 11:42 pmWas a bit nippy out there today -- I know, I was out in it for a while! Fortunately before the wind started picking up this afternoon, but even still. Why was I out? Well, Mom wanted to go to Ulta Beauty to use the gift card Dad got her for Christmas, and she suggested I could come with her and hit Kohl's to use the gift card they gave me. I figured this was a smart idea, so around 11 we bundled up and headed out.
Turns out right after Christmas is NOT the best time to go out shopping, as both Kohl's and Ulta were badly picked over. I was hoping to get another pair of yoga pants to lounge around in on my days off, but they didn't have anything I liked in that department. :( I DID get a new sweater, at least, so that's something. Nice and soft and a nice light blue. And on sale too, so I still have plenty to work with on my gift card. :) And Mom managed, after a lot of pouring over the shelves at Ulta, to get some makeup she wanted, so that was good, at least. Not an ideal shopping trip, but at least we didn't come back empty-handed!
Rest of the day was spent indoors doing usual day-off kind of stuff:
-->Wrote on "Secundus 2," finishing up the "meeting the mayor" section and starting a brief perspective change to Gordon Tannen meeting Buford so I can set up the villains of the piece
-->Played some BioShock 2, bemoaning the existence of Splicers in the "Journey To The Surface" ride because damn it I find the thing fascinating and hilarious and I don't want to keep fighting for my life in it! Did my second gather with my Little Sister (helped out immensely by a hacked turret) and rescued her upon bringing her back to a vent. Going for one of the good endings, you see. I don't think I have it in me to harvest the poor things. Currently parked by the vent while wondering if I'm about to get jumped when I leave the area. At least this time the game didn't crash!
-->Watched pretty much all Kubz Scouts today on YouTube -- a Yandere Simulator myths episode full of fascinating bugs, and Jay playing through Doki Doki Literature Club, a game that LOOKS like a visual novel, buuuut. . . I got through the first three episodes okay, but had to bail on #4, both because I needed to get on the RP thing, and because while I'm fascinated by the concept of the game, I'm a little worried the actual execution will freak me out too much. I can be -- iffy with games like that. (Though I took the first major scare pretty well -- maybe because I knew it was coming?) At the very least, I shouldn't be watching it at night.
-->And currently trying to juggle the RP thing on tumblr, answering some stuff in my inbox, and answering messages on my main tumblr. Why do I always leave this stuff so late. . . Oh, right, because I'm always getting distracted by YouTube, writing, and video games. Duh. :p
Well, anyway -- I gotta hit the bathroom, then I gotta get back to various forms of replies. End of vacation looming now. . .but I've still got four solid days, so that's nice. Maybe I can structure my time a little better tomorrow. . . (Probably not, but a girl can dream.) Night all!
