Derailed Friday
Dec. 29th, 2017 11:37 pmNot a major derailing -- I didn't have any major plans, and I did get my writing done ("Fixing You," the Deluded Depths part of Victor's Wonderland visit). But I also planned to play Sims 4 and watch both the second half of the OXBox/OXtra charades challenge and Helloween's latest The Evil Within 2 set, plus catch up more on my tumblr. . .
And instead, me watching episode 4 of the Kubz Scout's Doki Doki Literature Club playthrough happened.
Well, okay, it was more than that -- I also ended up spending most of my morning helping Mom with a few questions about Paint (she was editing pictures to make into thank-you cards for her friends). Not to mention I got up later than I planned anyway. But between that, a kind-of-late lunch, the writing taking longer than I expected, and that episode -- well, a lot of the day vanished down a black hole, you know? ^^; At least DDLC was interesting -- the glitches are creepy, but I think having Jay's face cam and commentary helps keep them getting too freaky for me. It also helps that I've already spoiled myself on most of the game's twists and turns on TV Tropes, and reading it over again reminded me that most of these girls are pretty tragic figures, not really scary ones. That being said, I'm glad I'm watching this during my time off, so I can stay up late if my brain decides it WAS too freaky for me.
On the plus side, I also started watching an RP session from a YouTube channel called TheDiceStormers -- a Call of Cthulhu session, since I've been into that! A guy on tumblr recommended it to me, and -- well. I know CoC is supposed to be about all the freaky weird shit, but these characters. . .they're not Old Man Henderson-levels of atmospheric derailing, but there's quite a lot of laughter at the table. Especially from the two who have done previous adventures and thus are now the bane of one of local librarians. XD It's great stuff. I watched the first half, and I'll probably watch the second tomorrow.
Right now, though, I'm doing some of the RP thing -- at least I'm reasonably caught up on other messages this time! Tomorrow -- writing, Sims 4 to check up on Alice, and the YouTubery I didn't get to today. Oh, and cleaning, of course -- it IS Saturday. *nods* Night all!
