Fucking Traffic

crossover_chickI swear, the day I go to work alone is the day that I hit the worst traffic. . .also, embarrassingly, the day I had the most trouble getting out of the garage (I had to pull out between Dad's truck and the side wall, and I kept overcorrecting in an attempt not to hit the latter). I made it to and from work okay, but it wasn't a very pleasant ride. Particularly getting home tonight -- took me twice as long because there was apparently a massive accident on the highway and EVERYTHING was backed up. And I didn't want to take the city route because I wasn't as familiar with it. . . *sigh* And Mom's already talking about taking Dad's truck to her job once a week so I can drive in and out on my own twice any given week, and that I should take the car out and just go someplace on Saturday. . . *heavy sigh* I know I need to know how to drive, if only because there are no truly convenient buses around here now. That doesn't mean I enjoy the activity, or that there's anywhere in particular I want to go. Ugh. . .
Anyway. Work was fine for the most part -- spent the day basically doing Parish Weekly Report stuff (exporting the actual reports and getting numbers to the boss). We had our lunch meeting -- apparently the two people on medical leave have extended it, and it seems pretty well certain that my old supervisor is not coming back (other guy is likely not to, but is a little more up in the air). More talk about changing systems this summer and new ways of doing things and all that. I just. . .I'm just going on like I have been. Doing my job and picking up the slack where I can. It seems to be the best way of dealing with things.
Got another page on "Secundus 2" when I eventually got home, which was also good -- Clara and Doc being cute at each other, which is always nice. Everybody already knows that they're eventually going to get together. XD Then I watched another episode of Silent Hill 2 from Helloween (the big reveal has been made, and James has fought and conquered his inner demons -- next set is likely the last!), and the latest "Atop the Fourth Wall" (another stupid Youngblood comic that Linkara righteously ripped apart; plus some fun stuff on the upcoming Contest of Champions!). So that was fun. Also got my Valice Multiverse queue set up -- another full set. Seriously, I've never gotten so many asks so frequently -- kinda weird. But I'll roll with it as best I can.
And now, as usual, it's time for bed. Need my sleep and all that. We'll see what tomorrow brings. For now, g'night!
