crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

Yup -- after all that buildup of a fourth major storm, this one -- seems to have died off pretty easily. We got a light coating of snow on the grass and such late this afternoon, but then it just kinda fizzled out. *peeks out window* It appears to be doing SOMETHING out there right now, but not much. I don't think I'm even going to get a delay tomorrow. (Which is -- probably a good thing, as I've got a lot to do. One of the bad things about snow days -- it mucks up your schedule.)

Anyway, without the threat of snow wiping out the power, it's been a pretty chill day off for me:

-->Actually got a decent amount of sleep for a change -- about eight and a half hours! Gotta remember, I feel better going to bed closer to 1 in the morning than 2.

-->Helped out Mom with some of the chores, mainly swiffering the living room floor and doing a few loads of laundry. She had another appointment with the doctor today -- things are going good with her eye, and she's allowed to do more stuff and spend time not looking directly at the ground. Dad and I have to watch her a bit to make sure she doesn't overdo it, but at least she can move around and actually look at things. That's encouraging.

-->Wrote some more on "Fixing You" -- managed to push past the stumbling blocks of the last couple of sessions and bang out nearly two pages of them inching their way closer to the town square. They ALMOST avoided the notice of the Loudmouth Shade (a crier shadow that brings monsters to their location if it notices them), but then a Puppet-Hand Spider dropped on Alice's head and ruined their stealth. Now they get to fight a bunch of the damned things. I'm still thinking of this in terms of some sort of video game I'm playing in my head -- it's weird how easily I can picture it in those terms. Or maybe not so weird, given how many times I've played both Alice games. Kinda miss 'em, honestly, but I'm trying to finish up the BioShock sooner rather than later. And I've still got Fallout 4 to play. . .

-->Speaking of video games, I actually dropped into Sims 4 for a while. Not to play any families, though -- I wanted to finish up my new movie theater lot. Took a couple of hours, but I think I've got a usable community lot now! :) Complete with bathrooms, an arcade area, an outdoor theater, and two snack and coffee bars -- a big one inside, a little one outside with extra seating. I'm gonna send Eric there at some point during my stay with him. Still debating whether or not he should go to Selvadorada, or if Nikal and Emmett should. Suppose I could send them both, but I'm not sure if two jungle vacations in a short span of time would make for good reading. Decisions, decisions. . .

-->YouTubery of the day was:
A) a bunch of those riddle videos (did pretty good on most of them)

B) another RabbidLuigi list of modern video games that will be known as classics eventually (some obvious choices, but I wasn't expecting Shovel Knight or The Witcher 3)

C) a ten-minute build challenge from The Sim Supply -- he made a public pool! Didn't turn out QUITE how he wanted it, but it still looks pretty cool

D) A "Fun With Shorts" about how much it costs to make a movie (answer: always more than you think)

E) another episode of The Sim Supply's "Jungle Adventures" -- Kat's got her museum, and now James is actively looking for COUNTERFEIT artifacts so he can sell them in the gift shop. XD He's also found all the artifacts, and finished both JA aspirations -- Kat just has to complete the collection of Omiscan treasures and get her museum looking pretty, and that'll be this mini-LP complete! Then it's back to "Wags to Riches" and getting her vets up to five stars each to finish off THAT LP. Good times~

F) A list of commenter-chosen weird-ass DLC for games from OXtra (my favorite is Far Cry 3's super-goofy 80s cheese DLC, Blood Dragon. Features neon-lighted dinosaurs XD)

-->Got my queue on VictorLuvsAlice done for a few more days, yay~

And that should do it -- gonna go ahead and hit the sheets now. Just gotta get through Thursday and Friday now -- and then next week has an actual holiday block! Snow days are fine and all, but I like having consecutive days off -- with better weather too. Keep your fingers crossed! Night all!
