crossover_chick-->Played Sims 4, obviously -- got started on Eric's part of the long updates! I decided that I'd rather Emmett and Nikal get the honor of the first Selvadoradan vacation -- but I also decided that Eric's going to get to do some of the OTHER stuff I've never really done with a Sim before. Namely, go to a spa -- which he did today, me dropping in one of the premade ones from Maxis -- and eat at a restaurant. He's also going to visit that movie theater I created from the remains of Nebby's old overstuffed hotel lot, and if a festival comes up that he can visit after work, he's going to that too. Basically I want to keep him busy so his updates remain fun.
-->Watched a number of Sims videos today:
A) "Call Me Kevin" playing a bit of the Sims Castaway Stories game -- part of the Sim Stories series from the Sims 2 era. They were kind of RPG-like Sims games that I believe were optimized for playing on laptops? At any rate, I've had my first look at one of them, and -- they are weird. Like, you can fight and befriend orangutans and make them work for you, get stalked by creepy professors, get complained at by fellow shipwreck survivors weird. I think I'll stick to the main game, thanks.
B) Two Deligracy challenge videos -- the first was to build a house while using her FOOT to operate the mouse; the second was to make a Sim in CAS with the screen flipped upside-down. Both -- actually turned out pretty well! She created a cute starter home with the foot one, and while her first Sim in the upside-down CAS challenge ended up with a ginormous chin, she wasn't bad-looking otherwise. And her second attempt, a guy, turned out super-cute. So yeah, Deli wins at challenges this week.
C) The Sim Supply pouring massive amounts of salt all over the "My First Pet Stuff" pack, as is the norm these days. He likes the little pets themselves, but brought up the whole "some of the furniture in this set is clearly meant to be a set with the stuff in 'Cats & Dogs' and it really feels like they excluded objects from the EP to sell here" issue, along with the fact that some of the new items for cats & dogs in this pack are functionally identical to the old ones, just with some design differences. What's really surprising, though?
James, who has admitted many times that he has no interest in CAS, brought up the fact that every non-pet item of clothing in this pack is a recolor of a previous mesh. And ACTUALLY TOOK SOME TIME TO MAKE HIS OWN CUSTOM T-SHIRTS TO SHOW US HOW EASY A RECOLOR IS.
So yeah, you KNOW this pack is bad. Ugh. Hopefully EA realizes how much goodwill they've lost and try to avoid this situation in the future.
D) The next episode of "Jungle Adventures" from The Sim Supply -- no new treasures for James to collect, so he's instead experimenting with relics. And randomly cursing/killing Sims in the marketplace to see what each does. XD He is such a cruel god. . .at least he hasn't killed poor useless Mario yet. Maybe because woohooing him helps keep Kat's fun up. XD
E) An episode of Sim Logic, in which I laugh at various bits of Sim silliness, wonder why the current game does not have firefighters, and sympathize with the maker of the video about how hard it is not to build a shoebox house.
So yeah, lots of Sim action today. But I did do a few other things too:
-->Wrote another page on "Secundus 2" -- festival's starting! Though I haven't actually gotten the group INTO it yet. They wanted to talk about decor and clothes. Oh, this rough draft will need ALL the editing. . .
-->Watched Helloween's latest Bayonetta 2 set -- the mysteries around Loki and what's going on in the world keep piling up -- as do the awesome fights. Seriously, there's a fight between Bayonetta and a mysterious Lumen Sage that basically functions as a mirror match -- and in the background, their angelic and demonic summons battle too, to AMAZING effect. Seriously, it's just -- EPIC. Like an action movie. This game seriously is so cool. :D I am totally on-board with Helloween squeeing over it.

And now I have to get to bed. Three day week that's sure to be busy upcoming! And then five days off, whew. Night all!
