A Kind Of Stressful Friday

crossover_chick"Wait, stressful? Didn't you have the day off?" Well, here's the thing:
A) My mom did some more bathroom projects: getting little baskets for all of us to store or stuff in under the sink -- fine; putting up some shelves above the toilet -- fine, albeit with my dad being a little grumpy about getting everything just right; and putting a wire on the shower caddy thing to hang it over the shower head -- NOT fine, it slid off as I was trying to get the scrubby out of the bottom bit, and I ended up pinching a finger and breaking the pump-top on the shampoo (fortunately we had another bottle; we'll use the broken-top one for refills)
B) My dad was doing his taxes and having a shitty time with TurboTax -- which of course makes everything tense as we try to navigate his bad mood
C) Our Blu-Ray player, for no apparent reason, has decided to stop actually connecting to YouTube -- it just stops on the "title" screen for the app. We could get into a couple of other things, but not that. As YouTube is what we watch all of our lunch and dinner stuff on these days, that was an issue. We ended up hooking up the Roku Mom and Dad use in their room to the main TV for tonight, and the plan is to buy a new Blu-Ray player in the near future
So yeah, all of that conspired to make this a less fun Friday off than I was hoping. Didn't help that this ended up being a rather distracted "rereading old fic and taking forever to get started on actual writing" day. . .ah well, it's a five-day weekend. I can afford to have some off days. And hey, I DID:
-->Get some writing one -- on one of my little private AUs, but it still counts!
-->Play some Sims 4 -- Eric had a very productive day at work, taking on a new case and solving it all in the same day! Admittedly, I had him stay late to do so, but it was nice to get something done so quickly. And nice that the suspect descriptions are working properly again. He also got invited out for a bar night with Nikal -- Alien Night at the Screaming Llama. First time I've ever really interacted with aliens in my game, and it was pretty cool. There's another goal for Emmett and Nikal -- eventually get themselves to Sixam!
-->Watch some fun vids -- from OXBox, a list of video games that have nothing but depressing endings (you wouldn't think this is fun, but the OXBox team made it all very amusing); and from The Sim Supply, the next set of "Jungle Adventures" (Kat has all the treasures! Yay!) and a side video where he redesigned the Emporium to be a proper temple museum now that she has all the stuff. Good times~

So that was nice at least. And now I have to do a bit of the RP queuing, and regular queuing, and socializing. As you do. Night all! Hopefully tomorrow will have less stress.
