Day On The Phone

crossover_chickAt work, it was because the damned thing would not stop ringing -- one of us was on the phone for some reason or another pretty much the entire day. Mostly people calling in to check on gifts or asking for help with new ones. When you're trying to actually get something done (such as find some paperwork for that parish that started the capital campaign early) it gets very tiring. And the boss was asking me questions about the pull files I've been running for various letters, and all that other fun stuff. Just another long and busy day.
At home, however, it was because we had the fun of a cable outage! No idea what happened, but according to my dad, the internet and the TV both went out around 2 this afternoon, so we called up to see what was going on. The first person told me it was an outage and that we should be back up by seven; after that passed with no change, the second person told me the new estimated time was around 11. It ended up coming back on around 9ish. Kind of frustrating, to be sure, but I kept myself entertained with games on my iPad. And not only did I do another chunk of "Secundus 2" (Doc's in fully lovey-dovey mode now), I also edited my latest short for "Imagine Me And You!" So that can go up next week now. :) Yay getting some more writing done, at least!
I also got in a walk -- got up to 71 degrees today! :D Really good times there. Though I couldn't do my usual route, because part of the road just past my house was flooded! All the rain there had made the little creek swell up over a low part. There was no way past it. So I just wandered here and there as best I could, taking in the air. Tomorrow's weather is iffy (could be rainy, could just be a little colder and cloudier), but the weekend's supposed to be decent. And next week's supposed to have some gorgeous days. We'll see if it happens, but it would be an excellent start to May.
Right now, though, I still have one day left of this work week to get through -- night all!
