As indicated yesterday, this morning the folks and I went out to get Mom a bunch of plants she wanted for an early Mother's Day present. It was a really nice morning, so we had a nice drive around. First we went to one of the local nurseries, but they didn't have any of the plants Mom wanted, and said they wouldn't be getting them in until June since it wasn't their season yet or something like that. Mom was disappointed, but instead of giving up, we headed to Wal-Mart (since we needed to buy some ant stuff for the kitchen -- we had a tiny swarm of the buggers last night near the fridge, ugh). And guess what? Wal-Mart's garden center had just about everything she wanted! We came home with three rhododendrons (two purple, one pink), two kinds of roses, some azaleas, and -- dang, I don't remember the names of the others. But they're all very colorful and pretty. :) Most of them are currently hanging out on our front porch, though the roses have already been planted (their instructions said they had to go in the ground pretty much immediately once you got them home). Mom's planning on getting the rest in tomorrow. :) I also got something for myself -- some new, thicker socks for walking in, so I don't have to worry about blisters mucking up my feet, or wearing out my BTTF socks. I was hoping to get a sports bra too, but they didn't have any in my size in the Wal-Mart we visited. Current plan is to go to the one we usually go to to see what they have tomorrow after my dentist appointment. Would be nice to have at least one other one if I can get it.

After we go back, we had lunch, then I got to writing -- more "Fixing You," of course. Didn't QUITE get to the point of Victor creating his new Wonderland, but I'm right on the cusp. Had to do Alice comforting Victor a little first. *nods* Cripes, I'm suddenly very close to being done with this edit pass! I'm hoping that sometime in June I can start posting the story for real. Keep your fingers crossed!

After writing was Sims 4 -- poor Einie's got squirrel scratch fever! :( Puts a bit of a damper on Emmett and Nikal's vacation. On the plus side, they got to visit both the Omiscan Royal Baths and the temple, and Nikal got them past all the traps and into the treasure room! So that was nice. :D Emmett also collected some artifacts, so they're doing good with stuff to show off once they get back home. Though I might have to end the vacation early to get Einstein treated. . .well, at least that would be my first time visiting a vet in this game? ^^;

And then after that was my walk (five times around our block for three miles, and I even did a little jogging!), and then it was YouTubery time. Linkara still hasn't posted Part 3 of his 500th episode, so I'm still holding off on that. Instead, I caught up on the latest Yandere Simulator Myths episode (Jay found a funny glitch where Ayano can fend off a delinquent psychically while she's being charmed by Senpai's presence), and Helloween's latest Deadly Premonition and Alice: Madness Returns episodes. The A:MR revisit was mostly the usual gushing about how much he likes the game, and some interesting thoughts about how some of what Alice does, at least in the first level, is actively undoing things she did in the first game. Like, what got her out of the asylum isn't helping her anymore, so she has to backtrack and try again. It's good stuff. AND he showed me some hidden boxes in the Cranking Up and Pressing Down area I'd never SEEN before, so that was pretty impressive! Good times, good times.

Deadly Premonition, though. . .Wow. WOW. That penultimate level is just -- this whole game is super-weird, but this bit just takes the cake. Tons of revelations, tons of completely WTF moments -- it was a total sucker punch. And it is amazing. DP is a lot like Vampire: the Masquerade -- Bloodlines -- it's hampered by not-always-great gameplay, and certain parts could have definitely used more polish, but what it gets right, it gets RIGHT. I can definitely recommend watching an LP of it, if nothing else. (And it might be nothing else, as Hells has had to switch to the PS3 port, which runs like ass, to finish the game, as the PC version keeps crashing because of memory leaks. At least Bloodlines is largely playable and has enough of a fanbase even today to keep it so. Where's the love for DP?)

Anyway, after that was the usual web roundup, doing queues, and all that good stuff. And now I have to finish up what I'm doing online, because I have to get up a little earlier AGAIN for that dentist appointment and the Wal-Mart trip. (And cleaning my room, as is typical on Saturdays.) Ah well, at least I'm keeping busy -- and I'm largely caught up on the stuff I want to watch, so that's good too. *nods* All right, night all!
