Sticky, Slightly Frustrating Monday
Jun. 18th, 2018 11:38 pmIt was hot today -- hot and muggy! Fortunate for me I spend most of my time in an air-conditioned office. . .my walks today were quite sweaty affairs. There was a bit of a breeze, but after a while not even that helps all that much. We had a little thunderstorm this evening, so things seem to have cooled down a little -- still, I think it might be a bit of a tough sleeping night.
Work was okay -- mostly catching up on some more maintenance and doing reports. Keeping on top of my tasks for the week, since I have one less day to do them in. It's always good when I don't have five million demands on my time, at least. Allows me to get some actual shit done. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue through the week.
Evening was nice -- got another page on "Fixing You," starting off the wedding stuff. :) Oooh, so close to being done on this one tooooo. . . Hells had a short A:MR Revisit set featuring the end of Queensland and Alice in Rutledge (both places remain super-creepy O.o), and a very short "You May All Be Wondering" vid showcasing one of those silly "simulator" games that, in this case, has you controlling the tentacle of some eldritch creature as he does various tasks (in Hells's case, keeping trees alive on a planet while simultaneously shooting robots). And The Sim Supply had a build video and gameplay video from his time playing Sims 4 Seasons at EA Play! :D The new expansion pack seriously looks awesome -- I love the weather effects, and the weather controller, and holidays, and -- yeah, I'm looking forward to this one. :D SimsVIP is actually running a giveaway on their website for ten copies of the pack -- I went ahead and left a comment, just in case. ;) Still time for a last-minute entry!
The slightly frustrating part comes in with tumblr -- namely, my attempts to get my Wednesday Sims post queued up. The FIRST part went up fine, but the second part was nothing but "upload errors" that wouldn't let me actually queue the post or save it as a draft. I finally got frustrated, saved the text I'd written in a separate LibreOffice file, and gave up. I'll have to see if I can get the other two parts up tomorrow instead. Stupid glitchy website. . .Notifications aren't working correctly either, honestly. I wish the staff would get their act together. I instead spent that part of the evening making some backups of important files in my Sims 4 games, as well as temporarily uninstalling my mods. I don't actually intend to even touch Origin (and thus update my game to the new Seasons patch) until I get the all clear from the Deaderpool, creator of MC Command Center, but still. Better safe than sorry, right? *nods* Made backups of my writing the other day as well -- trying to get back into better habits with that. I've come too far to lose all my stuff now!
And now it's time to answer the last thing in my inbox and go to bed. We'll see what tomorrow brings -- hopefully drier air and slightly cooler temps. *whew* Night all!
