Meeting Wednesday

crossover_chickWell, technically two meetings, but I had to be present for both, so it was basically one long stretch of having information about our new database system thrown at me. I tried to take notes and absorb as much as I could, but. . .well, it was a lot to take in. From what I can tell, reporting should be easier, and our processing company should have an easier time putting on gifts. But I think it's going to take me playing around with the system personally and seeing what it can do before I really come to grips with it. Fortunately they're already planning training sessions starting next week, so that should help.
On the plus side, the boss and the database people took us out to lunch at a local pizza place -- I got a Philly Cheesesteak flatbread sandwich, which was HUGE. O.O Tasty, but I could only eat half, and had to have the other half boxed up. Which -- actually worked out perfectly for me, as -- not realizing we were going out to eat -- I'd brought a sandwich in with me. So now I can have my original sandwich tomorrow for lunch, and my leftover sandwich on Friday! Yay lunches being set.
Afternoon's been decent for the most part -- managed to push past the part that was giving me so much trouble in "Fixing You" Chapter 2. Still not gonna be ready for this Friday, but that's okay -- that'll give me a little extra time to shore up Chapter 3 once I'm ready to move onto that one. I did, of course, manage to post another chapter of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Dinah Red. Writing little Alice is fun -- she's such a spitfire. XD I also watched the latest Atop the 4th Wall episode (a Superman/Spider-Man crossover that ended up being "Superman does most of the heroing while Spidey engages in various forms of sad comedy") and a RabbidLuigi list on toughest optional challenges (aka ways to torture yourself while gaming). So that was nice. :)
And now, as per usual, time to answer a few last things and then hit the sack. Two (well, one and a half) days left of work this week! Yay~ Night!
