This Week Is Testing My Patience

crossover_chickThough at least the traffic was WAAAAY better today -- which is good, as Dad's truck still doesn't have air conditioning. If this humidity could clear out anytime soon, that would be great. But yeah, work was again frustrating -- lots of people all demanding a chunk of my time while I try to work around the stuff I know has to get done that day. I'm keeping up as best I can, but I still haven't gotten those online payments from that one parish on our system yet -- that's definitely a must-do tomorrow, since I doubt I'll have time on Friday. Ugh, and here I was hoping for a quiet week with the director out of the office on his own vacation. . . *sigh*
Afternoon's been a bit better, at least. Did my workout, had dinner, and did some more editing on Chapter 3 of "Fixing You." Cut out a huge chunk of amusing but ultimately unnecessary fluff (maybe I'll rework it into a short), meaning I'm ALMOST done editing the chapter. Not quite, though -- and I think I do prefer letting them sit a couple of days after finishing up the "posting" edit, just so I can read it over with a fresh eye when I actually post. I should be able to finish it up tomorrow, though -- and then move onto Chapter 4! Which, ah, is a creepy one, let me just warn you now. . . I did get up the next part of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Bumby Beige. Bit of a weird one, but Bumby had to give Alice SOME sort of color, and I got hung up on the alliteration. . .
Anyway, after that was Helloween -- another RE4 set, where we got to play as Ashley for a little while! And Hells got to deal with two of his favorite things in the world -- sliding block puzzles (which he chipmunked his way through in the set) and quick-time-events with non-intuitive buttons (Ashley died to many an axe-wielding knight while he raged). But he made it through eventually -- just in time to take Leon into the goofiest lava room ever. Complete with hanging mechanical dragon things that you have to shoot down so they don't roast you on the way to your goal. It's absolutely ridiculous and fantastic XD
And after that was The Sim Supply -- a bit more "Super Sim!" Hey, it's 8/8, so I figured I ought to watch episode 88. ;p BTTF numbers for the win and all that. Anyway, Max managed to fulfill Super Parent with Kareem (after a looot of dedicated parenting -- James ended up jump-cutting a few times), meaning Kareem was promptly aged up so he could be kicked out of the house at the first opportunity. XD Now Max just has to wait out the two remaining vampire aspirations (which both have "do this for x amount of days" as a goal at the end level) -- and, considering the next episode shows him getting cured, I think James is going to find a way to cheat a little bit. . .
But that's for later. Right now I've gotta answer the stuff waiting in my inbox and head to bed. VictorLuvsAlice queue's at least up through the first half of Saturday, so that's good. I'm planning to keep that going through my vacation, though I'm taking a break from tumblr RP and most of the messaging. Not going to feel very RP-ready or social, given all the little day trips we're planning on taking. . . Plus it would be nice to have a couple of quiet nights more or less to myself. *nods* But first, gotta get through tomorrow and Friday. Really hope they go a little more smoothly. . . Night all!
