For one thing, the net actually stayed on tonight. So I guess it's not the modem after all. Dunno what happened last night, but I'm hoping there isn't a repeat. I don't enjoy having my usual funtime activities snatched away from me.

Anyway -- work was fine, if a little slow. We're all slowly but surely getting used to this new system -- figuring out how to change things, post gifts, stuff like that. Although the reporting seems like it could use some work -- I once again got out a few minutes late because of some last-minute stuff they wanted to talk about. This time it was what they were trying to do to imitate our usual GL. . .but it doesn't look like they've gotten the campaign summaries right. The totals on one of the old campaigns was way off in both one-time gifts and payments received. Hopefully we can get that fixed in the morning. . . At least I was able to talk to them about some of the files I have to send out and reports I have to run later this week and into next week. And I was able to contact those donors who need to get their gifts onto the new credit card vendor's site, so that's something too. Progress!

Once at home, I was able to watch that episode of The Sim Supply's "Rags to Riches Seasons" LP that I couldn't get through yesterday because of the wonky net. Sebastian and Luna had a very successful day at the store, and the family enjoyed a pleasant Summerfest -- older daughter Raggy got a freaking fridge out of the present pile. XD It's a Summerfest miracle! Though the real Summerfest miracle is James finding one orchid plant that was spared the carnage of the seasons change (meaning all the orchids outside died and now have to regrow). He promptly harvested it and planted the flowers to get even MORE orchids. XD Soon he will be able to make all the highest-level flower arrangements again. . . I also watched the latest "Fun With Shorts" (a stop-motion telling of Little Red Riding Hood -- done by Ray Harryhausen!), a retrospective of the Sims series, and a list of super-hard bosses in easy games. Making up for lost time yesterday.

I also did my writing -- Chapter 6 of "Fixing You" is coming along, slowly but surely. Chapter 5's all ready to go up tomorrow, but Chapter 6 is probably going to the week after next. What can you do -- the chapter I split was roughly 20 pages, and the "buffer" I got with Chapter 4 being so short only covered editing Chapter 5. Add in that weeks I do a double post I don't really have time to write properly on posting day, and. . . *shrug* I think it'll be worth it, though -- I want to get this awkward tea juuust right. :p

And I've gotten my queues all tweaked too -- Valice Multiverse is ready to go, as is VictorLuvsAlice. I've even made good progress on emptying out the inbox -- though I guess it helps that a lot of the stuff in there I had pre-drafted from yesterday. Still, there was some new stuff (including a new review on "By The Riverside," that old Victor/Alice kid!fic I did), so I'm glad I'm keeping on top of it. Just gotta post up two last comments, then it'll be time to hit the sheets. Fingers crossed tomorrow will be all right as well -- last day of the new database people being on-site, though they keep assuring us they'll only be a phone call/e-mail away. Hopefully that's true, as I don't think the transition pains will be going away anytime soon. . . We'll see. Night all!
