No-Start Sunday

crossover_chickYeah, I wasn't really on top of my game for most of the day, I have to admit. I mean, I usually have kind of a slow start on Sundays (just getting out of my PJs takes a while), but I kept meaning to get to things like my writing, or my "watch later" list on YouTube, and instead getting caught up in other stuff. Doesn't help that my parents are having drama with the car (the blower motor has gone, meaning the car doesn't have heat -- not an issue right now, but will rapidly become one as we move on to November) and bugs outside (there's this one swarm that appeared right on our front porch that they had to kill -- we have NO IDEA what caused it). And, just by virtue of living in the same house, I got kinda caught up in it. Meh. Not good for productivity.
I did EVENTUALLY get the stuff I wanted to get done, done, including:
-->Playing Sims 4: A day of "not anything special" -- well, except for the glitches. Which included the game -- uh, not exactly freezing, as I could still actually click on things and hear them respond, but the image on the screen went pretty much static. It wasn't until I was ready to quit out of it with task manager that I got it to respond again, and by that time I'm PRETTY sure I had accidentally gone into "Manage Worlds." I exited out of game and went back in, and then it behaved itself. Just an ordinary day in the life of the McFlys, really -- I bought a Dollhouse for the kids and had Dina Caliente over for a bit. Winter starts next playsession, though, so that should be interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing proper snow, instead of just flurries.
-->Getting in a walk: Just the usual round the block a few times -- but it was sticky and BUGGY today, ew. Swarms of little bugs everywhere. Not to mention I left kind of earlier than usual because I'd noticed it's dark by seven now. . . I think we're inching up to the point where I'm going to have to do pretty much all my exercising indoors because there's just not going to be enough daylight to go around. :(
-->Writing on Chapter 8: Did a conversation about cats -- reminiscing about Dinah, and theorizing where the cat Alice is carrying at the end of AMA went when we started A:MR (as it's clearly not in Houndsditch with her). Also worked in a favorite visual gag from the Corpse Bride storyboards, just because I can.
-->Catching up on videos: One comparing ghosts over the Sims series (I'd forgotten about the variety of death colors in Sims 2!); The Sim Supply's workshop/Lady II's bedroom build (featuring his hilarious assertion that Lady II is the reject child while gushing over the cool loft bedroom he made her); Helloween's penultimate Metroid Prime set (would have been his ultimate one, but he ran out of space to record, so he had to stop it after getting all the artifacts and beating Ridley -- now Samus must journey into the impact crater to stop the Great Poison at its source); and the latest Atop The Fourth Wall episode (featuring a hard-to-find Silent Hill motion comic that has some interesting ideas but fails pretty hard in the execution; and some frankly confusing revelations regarding the latest storyline. I really wonder how this whole thing is going to wrap up. . .)
-->Doing tumblr queues: Got my latest "Vamptober" post up, yay, so I'm set through Tuesday -- and, given a little time to edit Sims pictures, I can probably get my Wednesday post up sometime tomorrow. :) And I just did my ValiceMultiverse queue, so yay there.
Still have a little ways to go yet with clearing out the inbox and messages, though, so better get back on that. At least I have another day off to enjoy! Mom was talking about taking a pre-lunch walk up at Lincoln Woods if it wasn't raining, so we'll see how that goes. :) For now, g'night!
