Simsational Surprise Tonight

crossover_chickMe: *getting on my computer and setting up YouTube, notices The Sim Supply has uploaded what he says is a "trailer reaction" video for The Sims 4: Get Famous; the description says it's like The Sims Superstar and the title claims he's in the trailer* Ha ha, James, you card! A new prank video? I look forward to seeing it later this evening.
Me: *going on SimsVIP and seeing an article about how the Maxis team will be doing special Get Famous livestreams later this month* WAIT WHAT IT'S REAL?!
Yup -- November 16th, we're getting another full expansion pack, all about Sims earning fame! And yes indeed, James was in the trailer -- his Simself showed up on the red carpet, along with Deligracy's Simself (and at least one other Simmer I'm not familiar with). There's going to be a new world, a new acting career, a drama club for kids, new ways to get famous using the old careers, and lots of hilariously-over-the-top rich people stuff. Deli and James were super excited, particularly about seeing their Simselves in the trailer. I'm not as into the whole celebrity thing, but it occurs to me that this pack would be perfect for Marty! Now it's not just about getting him to the top of the music career -- I can make him a true rich rock star, just like he wanted in BTTF II! Plus, there's also another, weirder reason for me to get it -- there's a fish-person costume, at least according to the trailer and early renders. Why is this incentive for me to get it?
Well, I've got a Lovecraftian AU for Victor and Alice that includes a Deep One becoming a friend of theirs, and this is basically my first opportunity to actually MAKE her in Sims. XD Soooo, there's that. :p It's probably not going to be one of my more well-used packs, but I'll keep an eye on the hype machine.
Other than that, it hasn't been a particular special Tuesday. Work was a bit annoying, as always -- more GL stuff, and now we have to call parishes to make sure they do their roster maintenance thing by a certain date. Weather was decent, though, so I got in my walks outside, which was nice. Got another chunk done on Chapter 8 (which is currently definitely on track for an update next week, yay), then watched the new trailer, Deli and James's reaction videos (Deli in particular was super "squee" about having her Simself in the trailer), and an ACTUAL joke video James made where he put his own Simself's face all over all the other faces in the trailer. XD Also got my queue for ValiceMultiverse done, topped up my phone, and made sure all my Sims posts for tomorrow were ready to go. Just got one last thing to take care of in the inbox, and I'm all set! Yay productivity despite Sim distraction. :p
All right -- time to wrap things up before bed. Hopefully tomorrow stays on track as a halfway decent day. Night all!
