Rainy Thursday

crossover_chickThough it started off as just kinda cloudy and sticky Thursday. . .and then, right after my lunch, the sky opened up and it started pouring. Ended up being another "slow ride home through the city" again -- ugh. I hate that I have to do that pretty much every time it rains. . .and we've got more of the wet stuff coming, figures. . . At least the humidity is supposed to go down. Along with the temperature. The weekend is supposed to be in the mid 50s, bleck. >( I'm actually thinking of going to the mall this Saturday -- I'm feeling a touch antsy, and I haven't been in a bit. And I could pick up my vampire fangs while I'm out.
Work was okay -- more GL drama, but at least I completed one project from yesterday and made some more headway on another. There's still tons to do all the time, but. . .well, at least it's a short week. And I did get some good drafting done on my lunch break, including some upcoming tumblr posts. Feels good to be even semi-ahead of the game. *nods*
Evening was pretty solid too -- got another chunk done on Chapter 8 of "Fixing You" (we're going to have a bit of exposition about how wonky Victor's magical aura is, then head back Upstairs to wrap up the Land of the Dead visit), then watched a few videos:
-->The Sim Supply returning to his long-neglected Old Salty House vet to finish building it! The actual "vet" portion is done now, and actually looks quite nice! He did a lovely job with the lobby and exam rooms and outdoor play area for the pets. :) Next video shows off the upstairs apartment, and then he's ending with a finale episode for "Wags To Riches!" Good on him for wrapping stuff up.
-->Deli doing a "Last Sim Standing" sort-of challenge with 8 subscriber Simselves -- the idea being she let them loose in an arena, and whatever activities they chose informed how she was going to kill them -- a Sim lost in a hedge maze got boxed in to starve, a Sim approaching the cow plant got locked in with it to be eaten, a Sim who jumped in the pool got fenced in to drown, etc. Whoever lasted the longest before dying was the "winner" -- in this case, the cowplant guy, Alec, who actually got eaten once, but then perished from hunger before he got eaten again (cowplants have to eat Sims twice to actually kill them). It was very darkly humorous XD
-->The latest Atop The Fourth Wall, featuring a decent if too short story about The Thing (as in John Carpenter's) in Viking times, going up against a party of them in Greenland. We also had some worrying stuff happen in the storyline -- Twokara has apparently remembered who he is, and -- well, he started screaming and didn't stop. Uh-oh. Looking very much forward to the next episode!
-->I also listened to a Pogo remix of The Shining, which was pretty cool -- ended up listening to a bunch of others along the way because why not? I like remix songs in that vein! And there's some cool ones out there.
And then it was the usual round of catching up on webcomics, getting queues ready on tumblr, and getting ready to empty the inbox before hitting the sheets. Fingers crossed Friday's an okay day. . . Night all!
