Got out a little later than planned thanks to my parents being out when I woke up this morning and me reading a bit of TV Tropes with my breakfast leading to me getting dressed off schedule, but I did indeed hit the mall today! It was a pretty typical mall visit -- go around various stores, look around, hit the food court for lunch, go to Dave & Busters, go get an ice cream, wander around a bit more, then leave. Though I did make one minor change to the routine by visiting a different food stall today -- a Hershey's-branded place that did hot meals as well as ice cream. Got a chicken wrap with fries and a watermelon lemonade. Pretty tasty, I have to say -- but I DID have to pick a few tiny shreds of tinfoil out of one half of the wrap, as they'd wrapped it in tinfoil and sliced it to fit in their little container. So that wasn't ideal. Also, to my relief, Dairy Queen -- which looked like it was closing up when I last visited the mall -- is back in action! I got an Oreo Hot Cocoa mini-Blizzard to celebrate (basically an Oreo Blizzard with some chocolate flavoring -- still tasty). Didn't buy anything except food and Dave & Buster PowerCard chips -- nothing caught my eye. A guy standing next to me at the Dairy Queen liked my Portal hat, though. :) So that was nice.

Mom picked me up once I was done with the mall, and we headed over to Saver's to get my vampire fangs (I couldn't find any at CVS! Well, sort of a lie, I found a multi-pack of brightly colored ones to give away at parties, which wasn't what I wanted) and a cape. We decided to go to the one closer to our house instead of the one in Warwick -- which, uh, may have been a mistake. Took us two tries to pull in, as the entrance is RIGHT off the highway -- as in, you have to pull up and wait for the other lane of traffic to break before you can get in. We missed it the first time and had to go back around. And then the parking lot and the store itself was packed, and -- I dunno, both of us agreed it just didn't feel as nice as our usual Saver's. I did get what I needed, though -- they had a nice, standard vampire cape, and a couple different sets of vampire fangs. We settled on a kit that came with some makeup, fake blood capsules, and fake nails along with the fangs. I think it'll make for a pretty decent vampire get-up. :) Mom tried to find some scrubs, but no luck, sadly.

After that was a stop at the Dollar Store -- Mom wanted new soup bowls, as we had only had two, neither the same size (one big round one, one smaller square one). She got a set of four -- two grey, two orange -- for our dinner tonight (ham and bean soup with biscuits, om nom). We also went to Shaws for noodles for the soup, and whatever ice cream we could find (which wasn't much -- Hood had a sale, and the section was picked practically CLEAN. Add in that Dad doesn't like ice creams that have peanut butter in them, and we didn't have much choice. Found a "BoSox Brownie" flavor in the end, happily). All in all, I was out of the house from about 10:30 A.M. to about 4 P.M.! And when I got back, I started reading TV Tropes again, and -- yeah, my usual room-cleaning and suchlike is going to have to happen tomorrow. ^^; Welp, I knew it was likely to happen. Won't kill me to do it on a Sunday. Also no BioShock Infinite, but I'm going to try and double up on that and Sims 4 tomorrow. Did it once, can do it again!

I did get some writing done -- finished off draft 2 of the first Alice bit in "The Technicolor Phase" after the "rewriting Corpse Bride section" is done. I'm actually pretty proud of how I handled the ending of the game this time around. It's different enough from how I did it in "Forgetting You" that it feels unique again, yay. And I got the latest Scene from Secundus up -- the "feast" prompt, which talks about Victor's now-largely-background "big eater" tendencies. (I still think it's funny, I just never did as much with his larger-than-you'd-expect appetite as I thought I would.) So that was nice.

I also watched some videos:

-->Sim Supply Q & A, where he talked about things like what got him into Sims LPing (he actually started out with Minecraft LPs on his other channel, then realized the Sims one was getting more attention and decided he needed to do more with that) and his weirdest fan encounter (an early one where a fan didn't quite recognize him and he got weirded out by being side-eyed on an elevator)

-->Helloween finishing up Metroid Prime (Samus has defeated the villain of the title in a pretty cool boss fight that makes you use all beams and all your various visor modes to kill the boss. Good stuff!)

-->An OXBox video about jokes that you might not initially get in games (largely because they're hidden juvenile puns, like a character being called Ian Paul Freeley, or background naughty jokes, like a character in Space Quest 6 having an alien blow-up sex doll at his place(!), or just out of the frame of reference for the average player, like Adam West's cameos in a LEGO Batman game)

--An OXTra video about first bosses that need to be promoted (most of which did indeed look like terrifying powerhouses -- and the only one I disagreed with, Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7, I disagreed with because I'm not entirely sure he can be counted as the first boss -- you have a pretty nasty throwdown with Mia first)

So that was all fun. Now I'm just catching up on messages and comments, doing queues and a bit of the RP thing. Nothing too major -- usual Saturday night stuff. Hopefully Sunday will be good -- and a bit warmer. Definitely getting into the colder, sadder temperatures now *sigh* Ah well -- October. Night all!
