Rough Ride Tuesday
Nov. 20th, 2018 11:11 pmBut what can you expect? It's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (apparently having taken over the "busiest travel day of the year" title from tomorrow) AND it was raining most of the day. The ride in wasn't too bad, but the ride home -- it was another "have to cut through the city because the road to the highway was already getting all backed up" day. Took me 45 minutes to get home under pitch-black skies. >.< And then tomorrow we're due some ultra-cold that lasts through Thanksgiving itself -- hopefully I should be home by the time the arctic air mass hits. Come on early release. . .
Work itself was another fairly quiet day, though I got yanked into an e-mail thread about stuff going on with the website that I thought was already being taken care of? *sigh* Well, I got the credit cards and direct debits run, did a bunch more merges, and cleaned up a nice chunk of bad addresses from old mail. Progress! We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Writing on Chapter 10 of "Fixing You" continues to go well -- had my fun with costumes, and introduced Victor to Cheshire. Cheshire, as it turns out, is a sucker for pianists with good ear-scratching fingers. XD Slide fun is coming up next, yay! A lot of this chapter is just them goofing around in various Wonderland locations, and I intend to make the most of it. (While throwing in a little bit of foreshadowing for future stuff.)
YouTubery consisted of a clip of a Jim Gaffigan routine (my parents love this guy, and he is quite funny), and more Call of Cthulhu from Helloween! Which mainly consisted of Helloween abusing every low-sanity dialogue option and action option he could find. XD Pierce's knowledge of the occult and the Myth is rising substantially, but it's not making him popular around town, let's say. We also jumped into a ritual meant to banish one of the monsters prowling around our dimension (worked, though one of the people involved went irrevocably insane), and now we're in the body of the local Queen of the Bootleggers, about to investigate the mysterious death of the local head of law enforcement. Good stuff -- I'm quite looking forward to the next bit. :)
And then I did my ValiceMultiverse queue over on tumblr, caught up on websites, and now I'm here. Gotta take care of my inbox now and hit the sheets. One last day of work. . .then yay Thanksgiving! Hopefully everything goes well. . .night all!
