Happy Not-Turkey Day!
Nov. 22nd, 2018 10:58 pmAs is usual in our house, we did not have the famous bird on our Thanksgiving Day. Instead, our spread consisted of:
-->Crackers, cream cheese (regular and vegan-friendly), and three kinds of chutney (mango, apple cranberry, and plum)
-->Raw vegetables (baby carrots, pepper slices, cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, broccoli) with hummus
-->Pasta with a special spinach mix in it (I don't remember all the ingredients, but I know spinach was involved)
-->Mixed veggie salad with tofu
-->Three pizzas -- a "regular" sausage, pepperoni, peppers, and onion pizza, a barbecue chicken pizza, and a roasted veggies pizza with no cheese
-->Gingerbread with coconut no-dairy whipped cream
-->Apple turnovers (a set with no-butter crusts, and a set with butter) served with vanilla ice cream
If you're wondering why so many vegetables and vegan-friendly dishes -- I believe I mentioned my aunt and uncle came over this year, as is not usual? And my aunt happens to be vegan, so we were trying to make sure she had plenty she could eat. She actually brought along the veggie platter and the gingerbread, along with little chocolate turkeys for me and Dad and a funny little cartoon-pig-head bell for Mom. Very nice of her. :) We all spent most of the day just sitting around the living room, eating, watching the football, and -- well, I mostly listened to everyone else talk. I'm not good in these super-social situations. ^^; Food was good -- I didn't care much for the mixed veggie and tofu salad, but everything else was tasty. Pizzas especially. And the desserts were delicious. :) Ended up pretty darn full by the time they left -- and we still have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Looking forward to more of the barbecue chicken pizza in particular -- that was yum. :)
As you might expect, though, being out in the living room meant I didn't have a particularly productive day online. Though I have managed to get a fair few things done during my short hours on the web:
-->Watched LGR's review of Get Famous -- he actually likes it a fair bit. If only because he can now inflict his life as a YouTuber on his selfSim. XD But yeah, he likes how fame is handled this time around, and the perks and quirks that go with it. Nice to see him feeling more positive about the game -- he's generally a bit down on The Sims 4 for not always living up to its potential. Which, fair, but still. I like seeing him happy about the series instead. :)
-->Did some writing on Chapter 10 -- which required a bit more research to get an accurate picture of where Victor and Alice currently are in the Vale of Tears. I really wish I could dedicate a bit more time to gaming so I could replay A:MR myself. . .but in the meantime, Helloween's LPs will more than do. Alice has had a soppy moment, and Victor's a little shy (and secretly guilty). And I left it on him getting attacked by a Slithering Ruin. Dude has no luck just at the moment. :p
-->Caught up some on The Sim Supply's stuff -- Lady Bigwallet II is struggling with gaining more fame thanks to this one "Proper Celebrity" Sim, Thorne Bailey, always showing up on the lots she's on and stealing her thunder. And she lost out on winning a Starlight Accolade award for her recent role in the musical western, poor girl. On the flip side, she's got something resembling a proper -- well, TRAILER, as that's what James was trying to build. But it has separate spaces for eating, bathing, and sleeping, and doesn't require her to spend her life next to a fake campfire. :p And Holly Alto agreed to be her girlfriend! So that's nice. Except that James was trying to use her for fame, and now that they're romantically linked, she's suddenly become a lot less helpful in that regard. . . Fickle LPer. :p There was also a rare look at James using CAS to make over the Bigwallet family -- Create A Sim is not his forte, but I think he did a pretty good job! Everyone's personalities really shine through in the clothes he chose. :) I'm hoping to catch up on the final episode he's uploaded so far later tonight (it involves trying to lure Thorne into Lady's "web" so James can kill the guy XD).
-->Got my ValiceMultiverse queue sorted -- lots of asks, which isn't too surprising. Nothing that gave me too much trouble, though, yay. (I've had some pretty tricky ones in the past.)
And now it's time to go around emptying the inbox -- and then I'll get to that last "Get Famous Rags To Riches" episode. :) Makes me want to play my Sims -- and now that we have a patch for the worst bugs in the PREVIOUS patch, and a bunch of MC Command Center hotfixes. . .maybe I'll give it a try. Tomorrow, though -- tonight, got other things to do. Night all!

Date: 2018-11-23 08:23 pm (UTC)Have you ever read any of those stories on the Not Always sites about like how a family member dies and there are companies still trying to contact them or the survivors are trying to either cancel the service or change the authorized users and the company refuses to talk to them because they MUST speak to the owner of the account but nevermind that they're dead? In your magic worlds the deceased could come back and present their death certificate to the company. Bonus points if they time False Flesh to wear off just as they're handing it over.
Yes, I'm odd. XD
