Apparently Sim libraries are adult content now -- the middle update of my Sims post today got flagged for reasons that are beyond me. The most I can think of is that one of the pics has a slightly salacious caption, but it's not anything explicit. Not to mention there's absolutely nothing in the pics themselves. If they objected to Eric and Andy being a thing, you think they would have gone after the THIRD update, which features the romance festival and flirting during same! I hit the "request review" button, but now I'm seriously starting to wonder if I need to take my content elsewhere.
Of course, the problem there is, I've been on tumblr for SEVEN FUCKING YEARS. There's a lot that's built up in that time! I mean, most of it I wouldn't mind just I guess leaving there to archive, but. . .ugh. One of the main reasons I stuck around is because the way they did pictures was damn near perfect for Sims updates. What do I do about those? I'm not going to stop playing my Newcrest Adventures save. . .and I don't know of any easy way to transfer the old posts anywhere. I have a LOT of pictures, so redoing all of them. . . *wince* I'd just leave them there except now I can't be sure random ones won't be locked away from public eye. I mean, I've got updates with woohoo in them, that might attract the attention of the censors. As well as a few instances of naked Sim -- with the pixelation, but who knows now? *grumbles* Might have to take some time to research some other options this weekend. There's this place called Pillowfort that's trying to combine the best parts of tumblr and LiveJournal/Dreamwidth, but according to reports they're still in their "severe growing pains" stage of development, so. . .
In other news, work was pretty quiet today. It seems it takes me complaining on a blogging site about how I can't just finish a project to convince the universe to let me do just that. Got a bunch of stuff that was returned to us from the processing place cleared up, so that was nice. And we've hopefully worked out the bugs in our new GL report, so that is also nice. Still no word on what, if anything, is going to be happening with the latter half of the month. . . *sigh* All this waiting doesn't do good things for my mood. And we ended up not going out for Mom's present tonight -- Dad wanted some extra time to think over what he was going to get her. Fair enough -- she actually came back from meeting a friend early, so we would have had a bit of a shock when we got home otherwise.
On the plus side, I got another chunk of Chapter 10 done -- Victor and Alice versus some Army Ants! Features Victor weaponizing the word "entomologist" after seeing how badly it freaked out the Origami Ants in the Mysterious East. :p Just gotta finish up the Cardbridge section now, which should take me through the end of the week. Even if I finish it tomorrow, though, it's going to be too late to post this Friday. At least I'll have it ready for the next one. . . And can then get a jump on my gift fics.
On the YouTubes, we had another episode of the "Get Famous Rags To Riches" from The Sim Supply -- Lady II has FINALLY won a Starlight Accolade award! That, plus redoing her celeb tile setting and getting gold on her latest gig, has caused her to finish off both new aspirations that came with the pack! . . .She's still living in a trailer park, though, so James hit fast forward to make her money tree grow, and is now faithfully harvesting it. He also built her a vault for all her shiny leaves, because that's the sort of thing he does. XD The current goal now is just to save up enough cash to buy a mansion he's renovating for her in the Pinnacles. Hopefully between acting gigs and the money tree, she'll be able to get there sooner rather than later!
There's also a new LP by Helloween -- Splatterhouse 2010! It's a gorefest, but in a fun way. Features a snarky mask, lots of monsters, Lovecraftian overtones, and a fuckton of blood. It's a little icky, but it's goofy enough that I can enjoy it. Again, major change from the two games we were doing just before, but I get the feeling Hells just wants to let loose this holiday season. :p
And I got my VictorLuvsAlice tumblr queue all set straight through the first half of Sunday -- though, given what just went down, that means less than it used to. But at least I don't have to worry about that bit of the whole mess for a few days. *sigh* Again, worrying about it can wait until the weekend. I've got enough to think about during the work week.
Anyway -- time to empty out the inbox and hit the sheets. Need to try to get to bed just a skoosh earlier if I can. . . Night all!

Date: 2018-12-06 08:20 am (UTC)If you right-click and select print on a page, then where it shows your printer you can select 'save as PDF' as well. It works best with View Flat for LJ/DW type journals, I wouldn't know about Tumblr, but it does save all the images in their places and preserve formatting and the like.
I've tried to keep RP backups ever since I was briefly on GreatestJournal and lost about half a year of plot that way (well, only semi-lost - I have it as raw, threaded HTML that's going to be a real pain in the butt to stick back up and some of which has gotten detatched from icons and stuff. The PDF works much better and I'm hoping to convert those to it by loading them in browser and then following the same steps.)
But to get back off the ramble, you might want to consider backing up your stuff just in case, so it isn't lost. It doesn't really 'transfer' the content, as I'm still looking into a good way to possibly host any baaleteted logs, but if I find one at least PDFs are viewable in most web browsers. And images can be copied back out fairly easily.

Date: 2018-12-07 04:23 am (UTC)Also a concern: The first "Newcrest Adventures" update was back on 11/5/2015. I have 29 pages of these posts, thanks to pretty much every Sims update being multipart (usually two or three posts in a day, though I've had longer ones too). That is -- a loooot of clicking for something that might not even work very well in the end. *wince* And that's not even getting into my other posts. . .see again the "seven years" timeline. Not that I care THAT much about most of the older stuff, barely even remember it, but still. It was a good thought, but I don't think this back-up method is well-suited to tumblr.
Fortunately, there do seem to be other back-up/export options floating around the website at the moment -- I'll need to check a few of them out. (And I have the Sims pictures themselves on my computer, so that's not an issue. I'm just hoping NOT to have to fully recreate everything.)
