Sort of Nervous Friday

crossover_chickMostly because it's basically the last day we had with our old database system (we MAY still have access on Monday, I'm not sure, but everything major had to be done this week), and it's just -- worrying to cut the cord. At least I got the final push on credit cards/direct debits through that system done this afternoon. And didn't have to worry about too much else. And we got to leave a little early because of the Christmas party -- they shut down around 3:30 so anyone attending would have time to get down there. (No, I didn't attend -- it's an hour's drive now, coming back in the dark, and opens with a Mass, which -- given my own religious situation -- I'm not comfortable with attending.) Still took me a half-hour to get home (what was with the traffic?) but at least I got a little extra time to much around on the web and do some writing. Two more rough draft gift fics in the bag -- just one more to complete, then the editing round to prep them for posting on Christmas.
A good chunk of my evening was also spent with YouTube, as per usual:
-->One "Fun With Shorts," a Coronet short about judging facts and not making false assumptions about things (which, uh, feels disturbingly topical for a short made in 1948).
-->One "Get Famous Rags To Riches" from The Sim Supply, which was mostly tangents as James apologized for misnaming half-siblings as "step-siblings" in a previous ep, attempted to explain all the drama he has planned for this LP and its related LPs (we have "The Adventures of Thorne Bailey" as a side project to the main Rags to Riches LP (which involves a very weird love square as Lady, Holly Alto, Thorne Bailey, and Olivia Moon all fall in love/break up with each other either naturally or as revenge plots), then on his new Livestreams channel he's doing the "Keeping Up With The Bigwallets" LP with the rest of Lady II's family, and he moved his OTHER Livestream LP family -- which is a sim version of HIMSELF with his wife and children -- into the save game just for funsies. So yeah), and bemoaned his own tendency to ignore phone messages and notifications without reading them -- while still doing exactly that, for the most part. Also, the kids got a water slide and missed Christmas (thanks to James totally ignoring it), while Lady got the rest of her money trees to grow and had another acting gig. So yeah, rather chaotic and yet amusing episode. :p
And rest of the evening has been spent doing the usual -- catching up on various websites and doing Valice Multiverse queue. Now time to empty out the inbox and get along with my usual Friday night stuffery. Tomorrow morning Mom and I go out for some shopping time, and tomorrow night we're watching Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson. So it promises to be an interesting day. :p Night all!
