crossover_chickYes, today was, at least in the later hours, dedicated to the Sims, as I both played the game and watched a fair bit of Sim-related content. To whit:
Playing: After a bit of patch download fail, I got the game to verify everything correctly and hit Eric Ember's place. It was the Lottery, so I had him buy a ticket -- unlikely he'll win, but who knows? He also had work -- I varied things up a bit by having him go out on patrol for a while. Ended up sopping wet in Windenberg, scolding people for having fights, poor guy. I need to get him an umbrella stand and choose an umbrella. . . He also caught the perp from his latest case at a Willow Creek gym, and successfully got a confession out of him. Another case closed, yay! And, to add a little extra something to his after-work hours, I ended up getting him a dog! A little brown puppy named, of all things, LASERWOLF. Come on, how was I supposed to pass up that?! He's Hairy, Jumpy, and a Troublemaker, so Eric's going to have his work cut out for him -- but he's a cute little puppy regardless. :) I'm looking forward to doing more with him as time goes on.
Watching: Caught up on the latest episodes of The Sim Suppy's "Get Famous Rags to Riches" LP -- he moved Holly into a San MyShuno apartment so Lady could meet her baby and break up with her for having a kid with Thorne. Holly immediately started a fire the moment Lady stepped on the lot. XD No causalities, but it was a near thing. . .and James is already talking like Holly might suffer an unfortunate fate anyway. :p So they're no longer a thing. Lady has already moved onto her next romantic partner (after a failed attempt to hook up with one of her own directors -- guy invited her out, then stood her up. James tried to trap him in the vault to kill him in retaliation, but he despawned when Lady later left the lot) -- Semaj Renrut. AKA JAMES'S OWN SELF-SIM. XD He was originally part of a different Get Famous LP James was doing on a different channel (one he made solely for livestream archives), but James put him in this save file just for funsies. He walks around in a centurion outfit all the time (except when sleeping, where he wears a giant rabbit costume), which apparently Lady doesn't find weird. (Then again, Lady lives on a series of sets in a movie studio, and her childhood was marked by the multiple deaths of her mother and Benedryl Crumplebottom, so she has no conception of "weird.") James is saying this is just going to be a fling and nothing permanent -- we'll see what happens!
He also uploaded a minisode of his "Rags To Riches EXTREME" LP -- mostly because he ran out of footage from the livestream where he was originally playing it. Harvey did at least earn enough money to turn his lot from a retail store into a restaurant, so that's something! Slowly but surely working his way up in the world. We'll see when he next starts the series up again -- given all the livestreaming and silliness he's doing with the Bigwallets currently, I imagine it's going to be a while!
And there was a video from Deli showing off some of the stuff in the latest update -- they added in some new holiday items, a smart speaker (Lin-Z, who is basically the Sim version of Alexa), and a picnic table with cushions on the benches (ooookay, but Deli got all excited about using it as a proper dining table as the benches aren't visibly attached to the table). Good to see all the new items, especially since my game is currently in Spring and thus I'm not looking for new holiday stuff for them. :p

-->Got another Scenes From Secundus up: ghost of Christmas Past! Mostly about Victor being somewhat weirded out by seeing his son opening Christmas presents, as, well, Chester is kind of his clone, and getting worried that he might end up making some of the same mistakes his parents did. Alice reassures him he's not -- that any mistakes he might make will be all his own. :p What, she wants to be comforting, but she wants to be honest too.
-->Redid the penultimate gift fic -- actually went in a completely different direction than my original draft, mainly because I thought of a better idea that my recipient would surely like more. :) So just gotta fix up the final one tomorrow, and I'm set! Right down to the wire, but what can you do. :p
-->Watched the latest OXMas Challenges:
OXBox: Andy got a Mike Challenge -- as is, WRITTEN by Mike. It involved getting the world's tiniest, most ridiculous car in Forza Horizon 4 -- the 1962 Peel P50, which is basically a glorified trike -- up to 60 miles per hour within a ten minute period. As the car's normal top speed in real life was just about a hair shy of 30 miles per hour, Andy basically had to fling the car off a cliff to achieve his goal. XD But achieve it he did! So the scores are all tied up at three apiece. Mike's gotta go four for four on challenges if he hopes to claim the Christmas crown tomorrow!
OXTra: Luke and Ellen took on the squad of angry Skittles that are the Kirbys of Smash Bros Ultimate! The challenge was originally "pick a character and go up against a team of three AI-controlled Kirbys in timed team battle mode; fewest lives lost wins," but Luke foolishly upped the competition to seven Kirbys. He as Princess Zelda and Ellen as Dark Link proceeded to have the CRAP kicked out of them. XD Ellen actually managed to inflict more damage total on the Kirbys, but died one more time than Luke, giving Luke the point and tying them up this Christmas too! So, again, it all comes down to the final Christmas Eve battle. . .
And yeah, that's about it for the moment! Time to load up the queue on my tumblr RP account (figured I can keep up with that one, even if I'm not doing so on my main this week) and clear out the inbox. Christmas Eve tomorrow! I -- don't have any big plans to go anywhere, but I do have some rather long-running stuff on YouTube to watch, sooo. . . I'm keeping busy. :p Night all!
