A Full Day In One Morning

Pretty much powered through my work today -- wanted to get as much done as I could before the early release. And -- I succeeded! Almost every one of the checks we got in over the past couple of weeks has been put on the system! Feels good to have THAT burden cleared. I've still got some other campaign stuff, plus a few "problem" checks, but that's stuff we can take care of on Friday, when we have a full day to dedicate to it. I just want to get as close to "caught up" as possible!
Got home in decent time (despite a phone call at the VERY END OF THE DAY asking questions about the upcoming Appeal, and at least three accidents/breakdowns on the road along my way home), and ran up to the new bank by our house with Mom to cash a Christmas/Birthday check I received in December and get some cash to pay Dad back for my part of Mom's Christmas presents. After that I bummed around the computer for a little bit, watching old Fraiser clips and some videos about cool (and bad) stuff about Bloodborne. (Because even years later that game is awesome and I'm still annoyed that it didn't come out for PC -- given how I spend my free time and how slowly I play most games, I can't justify getting a PS4!)
And then it was time to boot up BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea! Which is already pretty fascinating -- since it's set as a prequel to the main BioShock games, we get to see Rapture before it fell apart. And it's shockingly pretty. Yeah, the people are by and large snooty assholes, but that's true of every BioShock game. And they're fun to listen to -- I delayed the main plot for ages trying to listen to every possible piece of incidental dialogue. :p And then I actually got to Cohen's place and wanted to delay it more because he's still a creepy wanker. *shudder* Said plot, for now, is Elizabeth hiring a Rapture version of Booker to help find a missing little girl (whom apparently Booker adopted?) -- Cohen apparently transported her to Fontaine's sunken department store, where his trapped followers are. Given the game just gave me a gun and a couple ofVigors Plasmids, I think we're not going to have an easy time finding her. Interested to see where the story goes, though!
Watched another video after that -- Deligracy making a list of what she'd like in Sims 4 for 2019; I agreed mainly with putting in spiral staircases and some sort of beach/tropical island world -- did my workout, had supper, and then worked some more on Chapter 12 of "Fixing You." Puppet-Hand Spiders have been introduced, and the rain has picked up -- we're on the verge of a chase sequence! Once that's done, I'll probably split the chapter. Having a "boss fight" as Chapter 13 DOES feel rather appropriate, even if the boss is Barkis instead of Bumby. . .
Anyway, after that were a couple of OXtra/OXBox videos (the first about games they loved, but the gaming community in general seems to have forgotten; the second about very weird characters to be found in Red Dead Redemption 2 -- yes, the voice over is entirely Andy :p), a couple more videos about Bloodborne, then the usual catch-up on webcomics and other sites. And getting a bit more of my tumblr queue done. All that good stuff. :) Not a bad Wednesday night all. Although this sort of thing makes me long for half-day summer Fridays all the more. . . Ah well, I'll take what I can get in winter.
Okay, time to do the rounds emptying the inbox -- can't stay up all night if I'm going out tomorrow. Got three main goals for Thursday:
-->Head up to the mall and redeem all my Dave & Buster's gift cards
-->Try to finish up the new Brown-Kosperov place in Sims 4
-->Get up Chapter 11 of "Fixing You"
A reasonable list, I feel. We'll see how it goes! Night all!
