Happy Birthday Moose!

Yeah, I remembered -- and even got the BTTF time stamp for you! :p I also bring you this fic, which again touches on what I feel is one of the most amusing events from the BTTF comics -- a little more directly this time:
"Snrrrk. . ."
George peeked over the top of his paper with a frown. His youngest son was looking at him over the breakfast bar, clearly holding back a laugh. "What's funny?" he asked.
"Nothing," Marty replied. His bright smile put the lie to the word, though. "Just -- thinking."
"Thinking," George repeated, one eyebrow raised. "All right, thinking about what?"
"You and Mom. How you guys hooked up, got married, all of that."
The other eyebrow went up. "Me saving your mother from Biff is funny?"
"Oh hell no," Marty said quickly, the mirth dropping from his face. "That lunkhead got what was coming to him. It's just -- you said yourself you were kind of a dork, and Mom was one of the more popular kids." He grinned again. "What was it you said, first time you talked to her? 'A density has brought me to you?'"
"Actually, I think I said 'popped me to you,'" George admitted, blushing at the memory. "She thought it was cute, though! She admitted to me later she was genuinely charmed by all the fumbling. Sometimes I wonder what might have happened if Biff hadn't chosen to stroll into the diner just as I was finally getting my mouth to work."
Marty shrugged. "Punching out Biff and kissing her at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance didn't work out too badly either." He waved a hand up and down his body. "Exhibit -- C, I guess."
George snorted. "Very good point. I certainly can't complain about how my life's turned out." He snapped his paper back upright. "So, you're just amused that your old man used to be a good, old-fashioned nerd before he hooked up with the prom queen?"
"A little. . .more that the old-fashioned nerd once thought my best friend was making a pass at the prom queen."
George almost threw the paper down as Marty dissolved into giggles. "You know -- oh, come on! That was -- I was already all keyed up, when I saw them -- two seconds!" he cried, holding up his fingers for emphasis. "Two seconds I thought that!"
"Yeah, and then you got knocked into the Static-O-Matic by Copernicus when you tried to deck him--" Marty leaned against the counter, almost helpless with laughter. "Ooooh man, I wish I had a picture of that!"
"No you don't!" George pinched the bridge of his nose. "I am going to kill Doc for telling you that story."
"Actually, I heard it from Mom first."
"Sounds like adequate grounds for divorce, then."
"Oh come on, Dad," Marty said, wiping the tears from his eyes. "It's not nearly as bad as that time you freaked out over a hairdryer."
"That Conair looked EXACTLY like an alien ray gun!"
That moment where George thinks Doc and Lorraine have a thing going is forever going to amuse me. Along with the results of his sit in the Static-O-Matic. XD And of course I had to work in the weird way George attempted the "Destiny" line in the movie, plus the extended version of the Darth Vader scene with Marty threatening George with a hair dryer. XD The McFlys have the best family history, I swear. . . Anyway, I hope it gave you a laugh!
As for the rest of day -- well, I got everything on my to-do list accomplished! I:
-->Headed up to the mall and redeemed all my Dave & Buster's gift cards -- that plus what was left over from the $50 my parents gave me in chips on my birthday trip there means I had over 700 chips to use on games! I've never had that many in my life! :D Went around and played a bunch of stuff -- down to about 411 now just because most of the games are expensive, but that still means I shouldn't need to recharge the charge the next time I go up there. :p I even got something with my vast amount of tickets -- a little D&B keychain. It looked kinda neat, and I go up there often enough -- I may as well "buy" something as a token of appreciation. I also wandered around Newbury's, but didn't see anything I wanted to buy -- I swear, the one in Providence Place is almost entirely Funko Pops now. O.o Which, fine, they're decent toys, but I already have the BTTF ones, sooo. . . Did have a nice Philly Chicken sandwich from Charley's, and a delicious Better Brown Batter milkshake from the Hershey's food stand. And I was able to pick up some deodorant and Mom's birthday card from the CVS up there. :) All in all, a pretty good mall trip.
And actually, the shopping didn't stop there -- when Mom picked me up, we swung by Stop & Shop for some fruit and rolls for supper, and Job-Lot for cracker supplies for her, and a new hairbrush and gloves for me. I've been meaning to replace my old hairbrush for a while -- all the soft plastic tips are gone, and it's just -- way old. And, uh, my old gloves have done missing, as I discovered this morning when I reached into my pocket to get them and my hat and found only my hat. We're not sure what happened to them -- we thought I'd accidentally left them at the bank the other day, but the guy there said he saw me put them into my bag. . .which they were very much NOT in (I even went home to double-check). I managed to go without today, as I wasn't outside very long at any point, but tomorrow, which is supposed to be below freezing all day. . .yeah, needed a new pair. Got a nice purple leather pair for ten bucks, yay me.
-->Finished up the new Brown-Kosperov place in Sims 4 -- it took some doing, mostly because I wasn't sure for a long while what was going to become of Emma's old room (I'm not planning on them having children for a bit), nor of the best way to display their fossil rock collection (pretty much everything with decorative slots has a maximum of three for objects their size -- they, predictably, had four). But I eventually worked the place up into something I found acceptable. There's a rather homey wood-toned upstairs with the bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, mini-gym, and archeology room (since they're the ones who visited Selvadorada on a proper vacation), and a basement with Nikal's woodworking table and their secret science lab. Though it occurs to me I should have a toilet down there too. . .and I'd like to add in a laundry if I could. . .well, that shouldn't take QUITE so long. Maybe I'll get them through Love Day first. :p
-->Got up Chapter 11 of "Fixing You" -- the FF.net variation, and the AO3 variation! Much shorter than the previous offering, but should still be a good read. If a sadder one, given the characters learn where those Slithering Ruins are actually coming from, and Victor has a freakout, poor guy. He needs all the hugs. And more killing of his inner demons.
So that was good. And, additionally, I got watch another set of Doom (2016) from Helloween (Doom Guy has been slaughtering his way through the demons of Hell, as per usual -- though the demons of Hell have not been helpful in lining up so he can get double kills with his super shotgun and upgrade it. Typical. Also, we've met Sam the director face-to-robot-visor and learned about the artifact that might be able to help us close the Hell portal. And, more importantly, we have found this game's version of the BFG 9000. :D It is a glorious demon wrecking machine. I look forward to seeing it slaughter the armies of Hell. :D). So yay! Very nice day off.
Of course, now I have to get all my end-of-day stuff done, including my tumblr queues and answering the comments in my inbox. You guys know how I am. And then it's off to bed for another full day of work. And then the weekend. :p Gotta get through all this first, though -- night all!

Date: 2019-01-11 11:48 am (UTC)I was kind of hoping for a reference to Leader giving Alice back her drawing skills, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Date: 2019-01-12 04:35 am (UTC)Hmmm, didn't think of that -- thought, it was actually mentioned before back in "Remembering You." The chapter where Alice goes to comfort Victor after he has a nightmare and ends up falling asleep in his room by accident, if I recall correctly.
