Kind of Improved Friday?

Phone was a heck of a lot quieter, and I was able to get a few things done -- still got distracted from the stuff I kept trying to do, but I got another lot of gifts on, so that's something. Chipping away at it one day at a time. . .hopefully next week will be a bit more productive, though. Or at least have fewer minor crises for me to attend to. I'd really like to feel caught up for once in my life. I also had to cut through the city again on my drive home, thanks to pothole patching and a big accident on the highway -- not my favorite drive, but it's a lot easier to do in fading sunlight than driving rain. Got home in a little over a half-hour, which is not bad for that route. Again, hoping I won't have to resort to it any time next week.
Got my workout in, had dinner, then did my writing -- started Chapter 14 of "Fixing You." Opening sequence is Victor and Alice vs Galswells at the Gate. Though it isn't a battle -- rather, a rehearsal. I'd always intended for him to be a "puzzle" enemy, with Victor having to recite his vows to get past him and into Silent Burtonsville itself. . .but now it's expanded into having to do the entire rehearsal over again, so I can explore poor Victor having minor anxiety attacks because he keeps remembering how everything went so wrong with Victoria and Emily. Sorry, Victor, but we're facing ALL your issues in this little jaunt, not just your terrors of intimacy. At least you get a break tomorrow when I go back to "The Technicolor Phase" to finish up "Alice Brown."
Videos of the evening consisted of:
-->A very strange "Fun With Shorts" that started with a scientific demonstration of how to make an air hockey puck out of a canister of dry ice and a disk with a hole in the bottom, and then abruptly transitioned into images of a FLEA CIRCUS, where some guy balanced a book on top of the scientific air hockey puck and then got a flea to pull the whole shebang. It was five full minutes of weird and I'm still trying to figure out how and why it got made.
-->Helloween's first set of Resident Evil 2 REmake! He's doing the Claire side of the story -- which, uh, so far has taken her to the same police station as we saw in the demo, which showed off Leon Kennedy's campaign. She's even hitting the same story beats (though obviously with different dialogue). I suppose it makes sense, given Claire and Leon meet in the prologue and -- after typical RE theatrics involving exploding cars when they arrive in Racoon City -- agree to meet up at the station, but Leon's nowhere to be found in said station, and the descriptions of the stories made it sound like they'd be taking WAY different paths through the game. Hmmm. . .well, it's certainly not enough to stop me watching, as I'm a fan of Helloween's RE LPs, and it looks like a good game nonetheless. And interestingly, according to his own commentary, this is the first time he's ever played RE2, so it's a fun ride for both of us! :)
And I just finished up my Valice Multiverse queue -- time to empty out the inbox and see if I'm doing that thing with my friend over on tumblr, as per usual. Tomorrow, lots of cleaning! Be nice to have a weekend where I'm not sick in some capacity. . .night all!
