Back To Work Wednesday
Feb. 13th, 2019 11:22 pmWith the usual "I'm trying to get all this other stuff done, but there are things that require my attention that can't really wait." At least some of the stuff that was being thrown at me is now sorted, including moving some money around so it's in the right places. Maybe tomorrow I'll have some time to get some stuff on. Just sort of been doing it piecemeal whenever I can lately. It's the only way I CAN get anything done. Ooof. . . At least the snow's slowly going away. Got up to the 40s today and we saw some sunshine, so there was a decent amount of melting. Probably still need to wear my boots for the next couple of days, though -- still pretty white out there.
Afternoon was pretty nice, though:
-->Lizzie Yellow of "The Technicolor Phase" went up! Ignore the title, it's mostly about Bonejangles finding out Victor's in love with Alice. ;p A good Valentine's post, though, for the tumblr. Only a few more chapters to go!
-->Watched The Sim Supply play MySims Agents with David and Jeff, two employees at Maxis who helped develop the game (along with the two previous MySims titles, MySims and MySims Kingdom). It was -- well, it didn't feel like a Sims game, that was for sure. There was a lot of joking around about how it was the best in the series and we should all be asking for a sequel for this silly platformer/puzzle game on the Wii. XD I guess it was all right, but it's not the sort of thing I'd be clamoring for as a Sims fan.
-->Watched the latest episode of Atop The Fourth Wall, featuring an indie comic: Little Victory: Chimera #1. Apparently this choice from a patron was controversial as the man who created it also does porn and pin-up stuff. Linkara was like "as long as porn's not what I'm REVIEWING, it's fine" -- and indeed, while many of the women are a little overly busty, the comic itself was fine. All about a shy superhero coming to her new stomping grounds, fighting off some supervillain threats (and showing some truly awesome powers while doing so), then dealing with the feelings of sadness and loneliness that come with being in a new place without any established friends while also having to keep odd hours. Poor thing, you just wanted to give her a hug. (Although I'm biased -- she's a Vicky too. :P)
-->Watched an episode of OXtra all about favorite pieces of video game music, which basically proved there is a lot of awesome video game music out there. :D I particularly liked Ellen's choices (a track from Assassin's Creed II that basically became the leitmotif of the series, and a track from Fable II that was just -- pretty), and Mike's (a very solid, summery track from a driving game, Out Run). All pretty amazing stuff, though. I left a comment about my beloved "Card Castles in the Sky" track from A:MR -- Cardbridge is the best level and you will never convince me otherwise!
So that was all fun. Also got my queue sorted for a little while longer -- all good for Valicetine's Day! Hoorah~ Now I just have to do the usual inbox-emptying and bed-going. Just a couple more days to deal with. . .night all!
