Slow Upturn Wednesday

At the very least, I didn't get bothered too much, and I got through some more of the returns. Changing up a few gifts, working through some correspondence, all that fun stuff. At least my coworker was a bit more on-task today. . .though maybe that was partially because the temp was out with a migraine (poor kid). Slow but steady progress really seems to be the name of the game. I'll take what I can get.
Evening's been pretty low-key, thanks to me already having my queue for tomorrow sorted and not a lot in the subscriptions to watch. The big thing of the night -- finishing Chapter 16 of "Fixing You!" *applause* Yeah, I was pretty much just over a page from the end, so it wasn't too hard to wrap up. That should go up tomorrow evening for my Friday queue on tumblr. Then it's to work on Chapter 17, which is a pretty short "showing what Victor's learned from all this" chapter, then Chapter 18, which is a timeskip to the wedding! Man, feels weird to be THIS CLOSE to done with this story. . .though it's still gonna be a little while yet. My bet's currently on finishing up in April. Still ahead of my initial "what if this takes 'til midsummer" estimate at the beginning of the year, though.
As for the YouTubery, the main attraction tonight was The Sim Supply playing some Sims 2! That's right, Sims 2 -- he actually specially installed Windows 7 on an old computer of his to get it to run properly because he was having all sorts of problems with his more modern machine. Basically he was just there to show off his goofy little family, which started out too poor to afford a bathtub and -- didn't progress much from there. XD Well, okay, they managed to eventually afford the fixer-upper car after the husband, Eggton, got a promotion, but the Leader of the Pack (the werewolf-making wolf) ate their couch, so. . . It was a good look at both the awesome and the awful about the game -- I miss being able to place my own lots in neighborhoods, the interplay of wants and fears, the chemistry system, the way they did memories, and some of the interactions (why can't we have spooning between married couples in Sims 4?). I DON'T miss how grindy trying to take care of needs was, or the graphics -- it hasn't aged THAT badly, but it still seems kinda flat and dull-colored compared to the current iteration. Is there a way to smush these two together, and throw in getting to choose your Sim's favorites from Sims 3, to get something close to my ideal Sims game?
I also watched the latest Atop The Fourth Wall -- a set of Darkwing Duck comics! I used to be a fan of Darkwing Duck. . .and, quite happily, these comics were good! The storyline involved Darkwing's return after a year's retirement to investigate the strange Megacorp that's popped up in his hometown, and why it's turned everyone into its worker-slaves. . . It was pretty engaging and silly -- the perfect blend for a DW property. :) Linkara enjoyed it too -- always nice when he gets a break with a good comic. :P
And then a lot of the rest of the night has been poking around my various websites, leaving some reviews on fanfics, and watching some cute shorts revolving around a spider and a butterfly who fall in love (and the adventures of their eventual child) recommended by a friend. Nothing too wild, but I can't complain. :p Now time for the traditional emptying of the inbox before heading for the bed. Two more days to go. . . Night all!
