Mildly Exhausting Thursday
Mar. 14th, 2019 10:43 pmA fairly hefty GL, lots of calls to make to parishes, more sorting through the bundles and trying to figure out what I have to do for each one -- I actually ended up spreading out stuff over THREE desks to get myself a bit of room to work with. Yikes. On the plus side, we've already taken care of a few problem bits and pieces, and I've gotten on every check that might have been lurking in the bundles that I could find. So, progress WAS made! It's just -- slow going, sometimes.
And then my evening was largely taken up by Chapter 16 of "Fixing You." Had to give that sucker one last editing once-over before posting. But now it's available on both FF.net and AO3, as per usual. This does contain stuff like creepy imagery and mentions of negative sexual situations -- as usual, I've done my best to avoid anything too explicit, but perhaps read with caution if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. I promise the chapter, and the story, ends on a happy note.
And THEN I was spending most of my time setting up queues for VictorLuvsAlice and The Valice Multiverse and answering comments on AO3 (I've picked up a new fan over there, and they leave a LOT of comments. Flattering, but damn does it fill up the inbox!). Not to mention messaging with people on tumblr, and all the usual catching up on webcomics. . .it's been a busy day. And I've still got one day to go before the weekend. . .
I DID find time for a couple of amusing videos, at least:
-->An OXtra list of video game prisons that were embarrassingly easy to escape from (from Skyrim always giving you one lockpick to try your luck, to Wolfenstein providing you with makeshift climbing gear and easy access to the Nazi base's generator, to Monkey Island allowing you to lure a dog into dropping some keys via tasty tasty bones)
->A Call Me Kevin look at the early levels of Alien: Isolation, where Kevin went full talkative loon, at first making fun of various things in the level for "scaring" him -- and then he got onto the space station and encountered real enemies and genuinely started freaking out XD It was great.
Okay, time to take care of the last few things in the inbox, then go to bed. Still gotta get through Friday, after all. Hopefully it won't be too bad. . .night all!

I'm glad for Victor. Now he can finally heal.

Date: 2019-03-15 11:40 am (UTC)Yeah -- next chapter is all about him acting on what he's learned during this whole ordeal. Including talking to both Dr. Wilson and the children. . .and finally setting a real wedding date with Alice. :p
