crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

I was able to catch one of my coworkers up on the check that's being sent back to us, but then I ran into a new problem with how we're dealing with credit card pledges, and how I still need to catch up on a bunch of stuff in the returns, and issues on the GL, and all sorts of other little things pulling at my attention that needed to get done. . .basically, it was a day where I ended my workday feeling fairly stressed out. AND Outlook still isn't working properly in anything but Chrome (at least I do have that option available). The universe kindly took pity on me for the ride home and made it an easy one, but damn. I was starting to get used to the nicer days last week. Hopefully this means my weekend will feel nice no matter WHAT happens now. . .

On the more productive side of things, I'm still making decent progress on Chapter 18. I've FINALLY gotten to the point where the gang heads Downstairs! And is promptly greeted by a party thrown by Victor's dead friends. XD It's a nice little moment, if I do say so myself. I'm at 14 pages out of 20 by the current count -- I'm thinking I MAY finish in time for posting next Thursday evening, but I don't want to promise anything, since I don't know how editing will go. Could be I'll finish up just short. It's definitely going up by the 19th, though. And then done with the Forgotten Vows Verse for a little while, and back to "Secundus 2!" Still hoping I can get a teaser chapter of that up by the end of this year, at the very least. . .

I also watched Helloween's latest set of Dead Space 2 -- Isaac is all suited up, and good thing -- the monsters are jump-scaring their way out in force! And partying while they're at it -- we had an excellent dancer show up after Helloween speared it in the tram station. XD Helloween's also been carrying around body parts and shoving them into people's doors, flinging dead enemies at the ceiling, crushing corpses in elevator doors, and generally indulging in space assholery with the NPCs. It's pretty hilarious. XD I'm already having a blast watching him play -- and I'm intrigued by the story on a serious level too. Isaac's having some trouble in the old brain-pan thanks to his close encounter with a Marker. . .and the guy "treating" him built a new one. So yeah, we're going to hell in a handbasket. (Or a smashed-up tram car, as the case may be.) I'm here for it.

There were a couple of Call Me Kevin videos too -- starting with an awful "zoo race" game that claimed to be about the animals on Noah's ark, but was clearly an excuse for the creator to use the cheapest animal models they could find on the absolutely WACKIEST race courses they could cobble together (ever wondered what it looks like when a goat is fired out of a canon? How about swimming down a river next to dinosaurs? Will you take a sheep riding a rocket looking for hot dogs?). Utter madness. . . And then I tried Kevin playing I Am Bread, which casts you as a mobile piece of bread navigating some guy on the verge of a mental breakdown's (no, seriously, you read reports from the man's psychiatrist between levels) filthy house, trying to toast yourself without becoming completely inedible. It's weird and delightfully hilarious to hear Kevin getting so pissed off at how hard it is to move as a piece of bread. XD

And after that I got my queues for both Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse sorted, go me. The former even runs through the first half of Sunday, so I won't have to worry about it tomorrow evening -- always a plus. So now it's just a case of emptying out the inbox and heading to bed. At least tomorrow's Friday. . .and the weekend's supposed to be nice weather-wise, at the very least. Keep your fingers crossed! Night all!
