crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)

I do genuinely wish Tom Wilson all the best, but yeah today wasn't exactly the greatest day for any of my family:

-->Woke up this morning to a MASSIVE thunderstorm, and the internet still going in and out -- still managed to have a decent morning, and the rain fortunately let up some by the time I went to work, but it was not exactly an ideal way to start the day.

-->Spent my morning at work doing one of the biggest GLs I've ever had to wade through (mostly because there was a bunch of Saturday batches to cover, which meant I had to print out additional reports, and deal with our printers being assholes), and much of my afternoon helping haul boxes of paperwork down to the basement. And then LEAVING turned into a nightmare -- we got out early because there was a special Mass, but I forgot there were people coming in to attend the Mass. Two of them blocked the exit out of the parking lot for a while, and I had to do some fancy maneuvering around the other people trying to come in and parking in odd spots. Managed to get through that and the rest of the traffic out of the city, but MAN.

-->My parents, for their part, had to deal with our internet provider and the water company. The former lied to them about there being an outage in our area (which is why the internet kept going in and out) twice when they called, and actually forced them to exchange our modem by claiming the problem was with it. And also said that of course they could just use it out of the box, which was also a lie -- eventually Mom got someone who actually told them the truth on the phone, and helped them get configured again. So now we have a new modem. At least I didn't have any trouble hooking up my stuff to it wifi-wise. And the net's held tonight, so hopefully that outage is over with.

The water company was a simpler issue -- Mom trying to get us back on paper bills as their online payment methods are a joke. Involved some nasty calls to the company itself, but hopefully we're back on paper billing now. Ugh. . .

-->And then, during supper, Dad discovered hair in his portion of our ground-up hamburger, bacon, and cheese mixture. Fortunately there wasn't any in mine, but. . .Mom's promised to start wearing a scarf and keep her hair up when she's cooking. I just hope the leftovers I kept for lunch are okay. . .

Soooo -- yeah. Woudn't mind a do-over on today for all three of us. Let's try and cap this off with the stuff that went RIGHT so I'm not in such a mood:

-->I did get out early, and I was able to put that time to use in getting my Sims 4 pictures for the weekly update sorted.

-->The Sim Supply had a funny video where he did the "Blindfold Build" challenge with his friend Zeuz, and they ended up making a fairly ridiculous house. Not quite as bad as when James was in charge of Deli's house building, but it was pretty silly XD

-->I also watched a Rabbid Luigi video about the worst bits of backtracking in games (which basically amounted to "why do we have to revisit all these past levels for uninteresting reasons, seriously? Also, fuck the Ocean Temple in Zelda Phantom Hourglass"); and Linkara did a Patreon-sponsored movie review of Tremors (seems like a fun movie! I might have to check it out sometime -- I mean, I DID watch the TV show ages ago. Only because Christopher Lloyd was there, but still).

-->I got one of my two remaining "Holistic Assassin!Alice" AU snippets edited, so that'll be ready for posting in a little while :)

-->I also got two parts of my four-part Newcrest Adventures update for Wednesday plopped in the queue, so that's good. And I have the rest of the week's posts all planned out, so that's good, makes me feel on top of things.

Speaking of being on top of things, I have some comments to clear out, then bed. Fingers crossed Tuesday is a little better for us all. *deep sigh* Night all!
