Holy Crap It Got Nice Out
May. 16th, 2019 10:48 pmAs in "warmer than they expected" nice -- in the 70s! :D I will damn well take it -- got out for a walk at both lunch AND after work! Although we did have some scary clouds in the sky both times, and I got slightly rained on near the end of my lunch walk. *shrug* Even still, massive improvement over the first half of the week. I was even able to turn off the little space heater we've been using! I mean, it's still surprisingly cold inside the building, but what can you do? Except be grateful there's only one more day to go.
Work itself wasn't bad -- kind of a day for finally getting some stuff in the mail and out of our hair, which I was glad of. Also plenty of proof approval -- fortunately small batches, so I didn't have to stress too much. Fairly average day overall, which I will take. I've had more than enough of the ones that stress me out.
Evening's been nice too -- after my walk and supper, I did another chunk on "Secundus 2." Victor facing the aftermath of his little moment with Gordon -- namely, that he's upset the old-timers in the saloon, and, more importantly, given the McFlys and Jennifer's dad a bit of a fright. Cue the poor guy nearly collapsing in a shame spiral. Fortunately Marty quickly reassures him that he knows that Victor would never actually hurt any of them -- and Linda kills the tension pretty effectively with a joke about using the Touched voice on Marty to make him pick up his towels. XD So it's all good.
Vidyas were good too, starting with another video of awesome Gallery builds from The Sim Supply, featuring a cute crashed UFO bar (made for StrangerVille, natch), an IKEA, a GORGEOUS Brindleton Bay train station (where they not only built the station, but also the trains!), a cool Newcrest university (yes guess which pack everyone wants), and an awesome little rural village (complete with cafe, a bunch of tiny linked houses, an art studio and gallery, and a church with secret vampire basement and secret wellness tower). It truly amazes me what people can DO with build mode in the game. . . And then we followed up with a set of Dead Space 2 from Helloween, which was also lots of fun. Isaac, after much fiddling with supercomputer nodes (and finding himself a Peng -- a little statue of a lady that's hidden in a special secret area), got to the solar panel array and managed to get everything aligned. Just in time to hear Ellie and Stross get attacked by an ARMY of necromorphs over his comm link. Cue Isaac using the area elevator's eject system and his rocket boots to fly down and save his friends, dodging debris all the way. And then Ellie had to return the favor and get a door open when the necromorphs tried to tear Isaac apart. And then we had a quiet moment with Ellie talking about how she had to kill all her friends to get out and DAMN it was good stuff! This is a great game to watch Hells play -- miles above Dead Space 3, that's for damn sure. I look forward to every new set. :)
And then rest of the evening has been largely getting queues ready -- Valice Multiverse is sorted for tomorrow, yay~ And Victor Luvs Alice is largely sorted as well -- not QUITE finished with my second Saturday post, but I can get that ready tomorrow evening. At least it's in the queue. And I got my second set of sentences up for Forgotten Vows Friday: Set Delta. Had to update or replace a few of them that didn't work with the current canon, but otherwise pretty simple.
And now it has become time to answer comments and the hit the sack. As I said at the beginning, one more day to go this week. . .might be a thunderstormy one too. We'll find out. In the meantime, good night!
