Which is kind of an ironic title, as the defining feature of today's weather was heat! Got up above 80 today -- felt well and truly like summer had arrived! At least until the thunderstorms hit this afternoon. I got out for a walk at lunchtime, and it was niiice. I've missed summery days. Not so much the thunderstorms, especially as they came on the worst just as I was finishing up a workout and thus had to delay my shower for a while. Supposed to cool back down for the rest of the week, but still be in the high 60s or so -- I'll take that. Gives me a few extra days before I have to start Nairing my armpits and legs in anticipation of hotter weather. :p

Work itself was -- fairly quiet, for the most part. Had some calls from people needing help with giving, made some calls to assure people stuff was in that they might not think was in, cleaned up some more returns. . . Nothing too life-shattering. If I can get in a fairly quiet week before the long weekend, I will happily take it. As I've mentioned before, I've had WAAAAY too many stressful days at work lately. Another reason to appreciate the coming summer season, really -- one of the quieter times of year around the office. I mean, there's always a few busy bursts, but it's just not as stressful in general. I like it.

Evening's been all right, even with the thunderstorms -- I got my shower eventually, after supper, and then did a chunk on "Secundus 2." The mayor has arrived, and already he's not very impressed with Marty and Doc's guests. And this is WITH the gang hiding the Grasshopper Teapot before he could see it. To be fair, I can understand how Richard and Emily could inspire some gawking, but even still. . . He's not being very nice about it. And yes, he has his reasons, but. . . Well, there are also reasons Doc and Marty are kind of tired of his bullshit. As I hope to expand upon as the fic proceeds.

From there proceeded onto the videos of the evening:

1) The Sim Supply going for a trip down memory lane by looking at the oldest saves still in his Sims 4 game -- very oldest one is an old save from a Prison Challenge he was doing. Had a rather nice set-up, not gonna lie! He also looked in on some of the early Super Sim stuff (mostly in a desperate but futile bid to find a furnished version of the Max Towers house, which he apparently never uploaded to the Gallery and now regrets -- fortunately, a commenter said she'd seen him save it to his library in an earlier episode, and he delightedly reported that yes, it was in there); an old LP he did with Zeuz; another version of the Prison Challenge he created; some old houses he designed; and a look back at the first Lady Bigwallet in her emporium (with a look at an awesome fan-created family tree for the Bigwallets in the bargain :D). An interesting look at his early days as a Simmer! And at how many save files he has -- it's frankly scary. O.o

2) Helloween doing a bit more of Nier -- our Shade-kicking father has been farther afield, looking for ways to help his little girl. First stop was the Seaport, to learn how to fish and catch himself a shaman fish -- a creature whose liver secretes a chemical that will dull even the strongest pain. Along the way, he met some locals and delivered a lady to a cranky old woman (after some hilarious banter between her and Weiss XD). Next, after delivering a letter to Popola that spoke of growing Shade activity in the Aerie, Nier headed off to the Junk Heap to see some smiths about improving his weapons. Said smiths happen to be a pair of young brothers, instantly activating Nier's paternal instincts. He ventured inside the Heap to get them spare material so they'd have more to sell/craft and thus be able to feed themselves a bit better, and now he's preparing for another plunge to seek out their missing mother. I already know how this quest ends, and it's rather sad for all the wrong reasons. :( And makes me wish for an AU where Nier takes the two in afterward. I mean, Yonah could use some siblings, right? :p I do wonder how it would change things. . .hmmm. A thought exercise for another time.

And I got three parts of my Newcrest Adventures update sorted for the week, which is great. :) I'll finish that off tomorrow along with adjusting the queue size. In the meantime, I have comments to answer and a bed to sleep in. Got my windows open and my fan going as it's still pretty warm out. . .supposed to cool back down to the 50s by tomorrow morning, but we'll see. This'll make it more pleasant for sleeping, at least. *claps hands together* Night all!
